I ask this firstly because i've not heard much about it, but also because thats all we hear about in the world of conspiracy theories....we went to war for oil.

We hear this all the time, it is even given as a reason why we won't attack N. Korea, because they don't have oil.

So if this theory is true, is the oil there ours now? Do we control it or did that theory slip by the wayside?

Thanks for the link to the article.
It was never about oil as much as oil CONTRACTS.
Ever hear of the name haliburton? Or blackwater?
There is far more money to be made by just being over there,
than from the actual relatively cheap oil that is already there.
It was just as much of a reason also not to let saddam control
one fifths of the worlds supply. We wanted our hand in the jar too.
Beside we knew the iraqis would never go for us just taking it.
Easy stuff to figure out. Can be no other reason that makes sense.
Unless it was for those WMD's we never found.......
