Oops, guess I'm not a killer after all!
Found this and thought it deserves at least a post here.
What do you think? Does it matter? Its only one tasty deer.

Three youths stamp fawn to death

A dog walker has spoken of the horror of witnessing three youths stamp a new born deer to death in a park in Dorset.
Keith Arthurs was walking his dog in Upton Country Park, near Poole, when he saw three teenage boys wearing hoods attack the fawn on Wednesday night.
Pc John Snellin, wildlife officer for Dorset Police, said: "Twenty-three years I have been in the force and I don't think, in all honesty, I have seen anything quite as barbaric and horrendous as this.
"It worries me what these youngsters might go on to do."

This is our future generation? Didn't sound like they needed the meat
too bad, either. Was it attacking them possibly? Musta been.....

Sorry for possible offtopic.

Jason Eugene Bush, 38, Shawna Forde, 42 and Albert Robert Gaxiola, 43, were all taken into custody and charged in connection with the murders of 29-year-old Raul Flores and 8-year-old Brisenia Flores. Both were killed during an alleged home invasion.

Civilized people race cars or mountain bike for fun.

Your link may have been off topic slightly, but your post was definately not.

BTW everyone, I may have worded the title of the thread wrong,
(I tend to do that)I hope you can decipfer my chicken stratch.
I tend to keep it short and sweet and that is not always a good thing.
I appologize for that.(for anyone who is still reading this, obviously)

I thank you ALL for your posts, as I hate pop ups and will hopefully have enough flags, stars, points or whatever to one day not have to fight with them. (no wonder I'm in a bad mood by the time I get on!)

No major catastrophe either way, just here to learn. Is that really so wrong? Maybe, that's the real reason we enjoy killing.
We're selectively scared of fresh new ideas because we got some moldy old dna then, or is it just a primal, needed skill we must hang on to and fiercely defend as if it's our last meal? What if its only an emotional and/or security issue?
And we cant handle the lack of it sometimes and react accordingly, predictably? Or both.
Or, maybe we do it just for the fun of it, once again.
Who knows. Now we're goin round and round. Like the world.
Long as I aint on the dinner table. IMO of course....
(I wouldn't taste too good btw)

But, more important than all the stars and flags on ATS, and in the sky
over texas, you all make me laugh, cry, fume and otherwise grow as a
I thank you all sincerely for helping me in my personal journey
towards that end.
This thread makes me realize why I stick purty close to the homestead...
hard work helps to back it up when a "pansy" may need to talk.
After all, there is that human nature thingy again.
You should appreciate ALL your food, not just what you shoot BTW.

Thanks for putting up with yours truly and this "pointless" thread. Doodydodadoom out. Peace.

Um, okay....I'll bite....
Did you enjoy the killing part of it though?
That was the question, not "whats for dinner".
Close, good try.
Apparently you are a very proud and fierce warrior.
Did you display the head in your mancave also?
Just askin'...

Maybe people who enjoy killing would be better served pitching in in Iraq or Afghanistan in civilian volunteer battalions.

Sorry for further offtopic.

It would seem that D. Homeland Security had it spot on, wouldn't it?

Not a peep here out of all the right w(r)ingers about all the recent attacks.

Earlier this week there was that attack by that elderly antisemite, James von Brunn. I wonder how many here also frequent and www.[hate-site-nolink] .

Before that there was the shooting of Tiller (who definitely had it coming and I, for one, don't mourn passing a turd but it's still murder and possibly domestic terrorism).

Obviously, they must all be undercover agents.

Some of us probably enjoy killing to an extent because those would provide a group of humans with food in the past... seems pretty sick though. I mean ok you shoot a pigeon stop its heart and now it can't fly again... wow what a badarse you are. Ridiculous...

How fun AND educational for the kiddies that must be!
Must be some proud parents there I bet, huh?

Bring a lunch children, we're gonna go learn to kill(and enjoy it)
some stuff today! Yay! Wheeeee! Your our hero daddy!
Watch close and dont forget this feeling kid.
It don't get no better, huh?

Bet the mini warriors visit their granma later and tell her all about it too.
(my sarcastic switch is broke off and stuck on. wonder why)

Thanks for your post!
Glad I'm not the only one that recognizes a condition some
may call "brain damaged".

Nope I couldnt kill a thing if I got hungry enough and there was
nothing else to eat there, ha ha.

Would I enjoy it? No. Would I be gratefull? Yes.
What if it were the last creature on earth? Now THERE'S a question!

Daddy, why are we killing these birdies?

Oh my GOD

8 pages of this....
This thread is by far the most pointless thing I have ever read

Killing has been around from the beginning of time, whether you believe Adam and Eve were the beginning or if we evolved from monkeys or whatever, there has always been killing.
Sorry to say this but there will always be killing and there needs to be killing for a culture to survive.
Let me ask you OP, if someone were to break into your home attempting to harm you and your family, would you not get a little satisfaction of killing that person. You would not think for one second "Hey I protected my family and I am D*** PROUD OF IT!!!"
Sorry to say that if your answer is no then you my friend are a liar.

As for why we as humans enjoy killing... its simple... dominance, superiority, power, and control... any mixture of the five can be the reason for the enjoyment for killing...

Just my 2 cents

To breeze and all.
I appologize for asking the tough questions some would view as pointless.
By understanding the killer instinct within us all, maybe we could learn to grow as humans in and before the end.
If that is viewed as pointless by some, that is fine by me.
They wouldn't and don't "get it" anyway.
Just hope its not someone you care about that gets it mixed up
and does something stupid seeking some "enjoyment".
I would rather understand the killer instinct than have one.
Maybe if we/you understood it better, we/you could help instead of kill.

Because if you understand it and it's all okay, then you may just be one.
Protecting ones family and home is another question entirely.
Yes I would do it, would I enjoy it? No.
Would I be proud? Only if I was an egotistical, sadistic a**.
Someone would be dead, course I wouldn't feel "proud"!
Do you have ANY compassion at all?
Sure glad everyone gets the freakin' question right.
I give up on this "pointless" thread also.
If you all cant watch the friggin' video, form a response that actually pertains to my OP then go read other "pointless" threads.
Lord knows, theres a million of 'em!
Guess I'll go hang out on the palin thread instead anyway.
I'm sure I'll learn something there.....

Good answer, but thats only four reasons, or really just one
that explains why none of it will never change.

Yes, but if you had to kill it to eat, with a 6" knife lets just say,..
would you enjoy it or would you just be thankfull for the meat,
because you were starving in the first place, of course?
Not because you wanted another head on your wall right?

Glad you all caught those posts about the eating vs killing for enjoyment.
And the fact ingesting food has no bearing on my original question.
But thanks for the responses.

We all kill some lower life form to eat, yes, but we do it to survive,
not because we enjoy it. At least some of us that is.

I love killing.... AI(artificial intelligence) in shooter games. But in real life, I can't even kill insects(except spiders!). But recently, even killing in a computer game is starting to disgust me.

I used to play WoW (World of Warcraft) until killing another player is starting to disgust me even if I'm playing in the Alliance side(supposed to be good side) against the 'evil' Horde. It doesn't make sense anymore, because I'm killing characters 'living' in a parallel life with mine, who have laughed, cried, loved, hated, and cared for someone.

I guess it's the same thing in real life, in war, we are shooting at people who have experienced the same range of life's experiences as we do, and have cared for and have many caring and loving them. We aren't shooting at some mindless zombies, we are shooting at people, we are shooting ourselves

As for your point about how protecting ones family is a whole different subject, how is that

In the scenerio I gave you someone kills another living creature, which is actually your whole point here isn't it? You were saying earlier how killing deer for food was wrong and people should buy their meat from the supermarket (I don't know how old you are and your education level but their are no magic "meat trees" that grow actual meat. Something has to be killed in order to eat it).

As for your second comment, you're right there was only four (sorry my bad, it is late and I have been awake for some time now, gotta love work huh
). Now for the fact that it will never change... DUH! As I stated in my post, there will always be killing (sorry to knock you off your all knowing, high horse). There must be killing in order for a culture and civilization to survive. There will always be the killing of animals for food (Oh sorry to burst another bubble of yours but I do not believe in killing of animals for sport. An animal should not be hunted in order to have it stuffed and placed in someones home.) and the killing of people who threatens another's way of life.

Everyone has a "killer instinct" whether you have used it or not, it is in our genetics. No matter who you are when push comes to shove everyone is capable of taking a life, animal or human.

Sorry man that is just the way the world is and the way the world always will be.

Thank you for that. Actually we should not kill spiders. (usually)
Try to scoop them up and toss them outside!
Because they kill other pests that hurt us and our gardens!

Anywho, glad for your thoughts. Thats kind of what I mean.
The senselessness of it.
The "enemy" also has a mother that loves them and families
that need them and that may be torn apart if they were seperated.
That is why war is so stupid, for lack of a more eloquent word.
The sheer inhumanity of humans is staggering.
Thanks again for your post.
Actually sounds like a fun game, I love flying!
Killing? Not so much!

Yes, men do enjoy killing. Not all men. Some women do as well.

For example, while most of the world is starving, there is still money for warfare, for example right now.

Were we created like that? Yes, I believe so. Therefore, I don't blame the killers, I am just sad that there are not more nurturers in the world.

Or maybe there are a lot of nurturers, but the powers repress them, because those in power love war and death.

I do blame the powerful people in the world, but it is not my blame they need to worry about.

Hey Breeze! Thanks for coming back to this pointless thread!
No prob, everyone needs knocked off their high horse once
in awhile! At least I can admit that.
I appologize if I made it sound like I oppose hunting, I don't.
I just think it is totally seperate from why there is a psychological
satisfaction from seeing a creature die. Thats all, geez.
I actually would rather people hunt and keep the population in check
and get their meat that way than from SOME of these factory farms,
if they can that is. Know where your meat comes from!!!
If they have to buy it in stores find out how and where its made.
(and whats in it of course) We have this choice as consumers ya know!
I still dont see what eating has to do with killing for enjoyment.
Does a worker at a slaughter house enjoy killing?
I doubt it, but I hope not anyway. At least its a controlled environment.
The creatures are raised strictly for that purpose and usually as humanely
killed as reasonably expected they could be.
The people in the video were not eating the pigeons they shot.
Once again eating and killing just for fun are two different things.
At least we agree the killing will probably never stop.
I'll keep my head down thanks.

Well yes I have a feeling I will be on this thread quite often based on the fact I would really like to understand your viewpoint.

Ok I will get over the comments about the hunting stuff and move on for the sake of understanding and the thread.

I can answer a few questions about the correlation between killing and enjoyment. I think PETA put out a video of a KFC farm where workers did enjoy their jobs tremendously. The video is rather graphic and can probably be found all over the WWW. I think it may be something in a subject's head, a brain deficiency of some sort. Not all people enjoy killing, that is obvious due to the fact that... well everyone is not murderer and we are typing

As for the intruder scenerio I mentioned earlier, I am not one bit embarrassed to say that yes I would (to a degree) enjoy killing an intruder. It has nothing to do with how humane I am or how much compassion I possess. In this scenerio, I did not choose the intruder's actions, the intruder did. The intruder forced me to act and in the event that I succeeded, I would enjoy and be proud of the fact that this scumbag was dead. I am sorry that he had a mother and father, maybe brothers or sisters but it was his actions that got him. I hope this is clear because I am coming up on hour 26 of this wonderful day

Thanks for wanting to understand my point.
Its not really a point just a question I posted.
Just trying to find out what is the deal with killing for enjoyment.
That has to be considered as something not right in the head for sure.
I have seen these videos of kfc's subhumans you speak of also.
Honestly if I killed an intruder I dont know what I would be thinking.
Probably just glad we(the family unit) were all safe! As far as enjoying killing him/her?
No I still dont think I could ever ENJOY it. Call me freaky that way.

P.S. I have to get to bed too! (work tomorrow) Thanks for the posts!
