Obama VS Bush: HATRED on ATS

<<  1    2    3    4  >>

Lately, I've noticed a lot of individual posts on ATS about how "Conservatives" have recently taken over the website. They complain that the Obama-bashing is getting out of hand. They pop-off with name calling and short indignant replies whenever someone "criticizes" President Obama's policies/actions in office. I've even seen "newbies" arrive to this website under the impression that ATS leans to the Right.

ATS does not, I repeat, DOES NOT lean to the Right. When I first came to this website in 2005, I thought it was a Left-leaning garbage collector (at least in the Political Forums). Bashing George W. Bush seemed to be a promoted behavior. Now, it seems to have taken a different direction.

Well, just a reminder.....

ATS IS A CONSPIRACY WEBSITE!

Everyone trying to give other ATS members the impression that this forum leans Right is full of crap. It does not. The pendulum has swung the other way and the Democrats are in power. It makes PERFECT SENSE that a CONSPIRACY WEBSITE is going to focus on possible CONSPIRACIES involving the CURRENT POWERS THAT BE!

ATS seems to be one of the most neautral forums around when it comes to political and social differences. While being politically correct, I hate to see it being accused of leaning one way or another. Do you agree?

While there are alot of people that will attack anyone who is "left or right" just for the simple fact they are left or right.I'd like to think most members attack the policies, lies and overall character of the person rather than which side of the fence they are on.

Bravo! Agree completely. I've had criticisms of both administrations, and I think that's healthy. When President Bush was in office, he was the root of all evil, all conspiracies, major player in the NWO, and a part-time reptile.

Now, President Obama is in office, is the root of all evil, all conspiracies, major player in the NWO. So far as I've seen, he's not been accused of being a reptile. Of course, there's the anti-Christ thing........

It IS a conspiracy site, and there will always be supporters of an administration that are so staunch that they cannot entertain even a notion of wrongdoing. It was so before, and it seems so now.

If I had to guess, I'd guess the majority of ATS members to be somewhat left of middle. s'okay with me. I have beliefs that fall on both "sides". I wish this polarization could slow down though............. I dream of a time when the U.S. nation actually works together toward their common good.

It's good to have dreams.

Most definitely agree. As soon as I critique any politician, depending on their political party, I get accused of being one side or the other, even though I explicitly state beforehand that I follow none of their hypocritical, lying arses.

We just need to let the new members (who accuse us) know that most of us here know that most politicians are 'two sides of the same coin', being lobbied by the same corporations.

It is a segregational tactic. A cyclical trap. End of story. Frankly, I am tired of saying it.

good day. ttyl

The politicians are nothing more than puppets anyway - they have their lines given them by those who are actually in charge.

Bush though - was much closer to the powers - certainly Bush Sr who was probably close to the middle.

Obama is a lying whore - so what, all presidents have been except for those who they had assassinated - and even those guys couldn't actually do much against the entrenched powers.

The thing that people should be hating and changing are the three key elements - the democratic system that allows them to nominate and get their candidates elected, and the Federal Reserve, and the propaganda machine of the mainstream media (on which EVERYTHING is a lie).

Don't feel for a second that the mainstream news and political and social commentary contains ANYTHING but lies and deceit.

I think that just by my old username, i've been criticized for every post i've ever made.

Even if they do agree with me, they attack me anways. Albeit, it's easy to be the tough guy behind a computer screen eh mates!

With Obama, in office, I still think its a leftist website, I see so many go after him on something, to an immediate recoil of, GIVE THE MAN MORETIME!!

Which is fair I guess, if my house was on fire, i'd just wait and see if the whole thing burned down or if the fire may turn out to be a good thing!

When it comes to obama this time, noones lookin at the signs and symptoms just the diagnoses that comes after the eight years......

I'm pro-USA something alot of ATSers are not!

Watch i'll get attacked.

Even on threads talking about quantum mechanics, I get the old, oh typical republican....blah blah blah.... bs

The problem is that there those who are that way. They start garbage threads that have no proof and is mostly just slander.

Anyone else who is critical of EVERYTHING gets pooled in with the others.

I hate it...unfortunately...that's just how it is.

Your post is not even worth replying to given your username.

I agree this website is mostly left sided with a few that are nuetral and a few still who are right leaning.

Bush, Cheney and Rove bashing topics are still very popular and any who dissagrees in them are immediatly labeled a NEO Con.

Most of those that voted for Obama are now saying there is no differance between Repubs and Dems simply because Obama hasn't done anything good. Now they are mostly posting Ron Paul clips saying we should listen to this guy.

They bought a brand new yacht and found that it is full of holes.

There are still some who are die hard Obama fans and will defend him by blaming everything on Bush and Cheney.

I will stand by my vote for McCain as I feel he was the ideal canidate for what is going on in the world. Both would have jacked up the economy worse then what they found it in, but atleast we would have had a tough leader where foreign issues are concerned.

Obama could have been a great President with a few more years of expieranece, during a economic surplus and without the wars. I think he threw his hat in the mix 4 years to soon and now we are seeing the inexpierance shine through.

But ATS as in the real world isn't and will never be a nuetral website where politics is concerned.

I think we have a decent mix of conservative and liberal on ats. Some are very polarized but most are open to great discussions.

Bush:hated him, lousy dirty family, big connections, dumb dirtbag

Obama: hate him too, lousy dirt bag friends, questionable connections, dirtbag liar

As said by so many they are different sides of the same coin. I love this place.

Whatever. This place leans so far to the right, it's about to fall over.

Political discussions are dominated by hatemongering racists who projectvehement, counter-factual arguments & thinly-veiled insults at their "opponents."

Discussions about alien life, or lost civilizations are dominated by Christian fundamentalists who usually employ the same, circular arguments popularized by Sitchin & Von Daaniken - that "we're the children of aliens" crap that people hold so near & dear.

And, the moderators do their best to ensure that this place remains a haven for the Freemen ilk. In fact, I'll probably receive a warning for this post, if not an outright ban.

I like ATS for its entertainment value, and for the occasional thought-provoking post, but the truth is, this is a place where ignorance is encouraged, never denied...

Your are correct in some regard. I don't know about the other forums though...as I don't visit them much at all...mostly just the political and breaking news forums.

I agree...as I'm an antiwar/small government "Conservative" If that's what it's called...that this site does lean right.

But this IS a conspiracy site. At the time of the elections there were far more lefties around...many have left.

Why?

Their man is in office now. Bush is gone and many left when he left office....although you still find plenty of people who DESPISE Bush...including me.

If the political spectrum switches again....the left/right speaking points paradigm will change as well.

Nope, definately do not agree.

Here is a few facts that some will no doubt argue otherwise:

* ATS is a left-leaning site, regardless of whether one wishes to deem it a conspiracy site or whatever.

* ATS is home to a multitude of left-leaning members who bashed and proclaimed their hate for Bush in virtually every word they espoused on this site....for years.

*ATS apparently continues to be home to those same Bush bashing and hating ATS members who now blatantly defend the current administration about as much as the vast majority of the mainstream media does. Hypocrisy knows no bounds, whether here or in the real world. Bet.

To proclaim that ATS is a "neutral" site or among the "most neutral" sites around amounts to being a falsehood and fabrication; to be quite frank, it amounts to being ludicorus and dubious.

WORD!

Tis the truth, with the "victory" comes the victors headache!

Although I can say the lefties are thinning out considerably...

I know of four-five that I would consider heavy posting lefties.

Five times that on the conservative side

I made a quick list and that righty # is actually higher than five times. I doubt I should post the "list", doesn't matter.

I might be over looking some of my fellow socialists, I can't seem to think of anymore who are politicos

YES my head hurts

I feel for yall up to 2009!

It was easier/ better tossing the stones I must add

My turn

I firmly disagree

Check recent posts

I saw 7 "anti" Obama threads at current - zero with BUSH in the title.

BTW this site is composed of member content, so your claim of bias is ludicrous

I have survived three posting bans this year posting Terrorist loving talk.

So I disagree - prove me wrong if you hold firm

1) Learn to quote.

2) I have been here far longer than you have and have put up with far more than you have from those I have openly condemned in my initial commentary.

3) The fact that you responded with what you have shows that I hit a cord and to be honest, I hope it hurt. Remember, the truth can set you free.

4) I have no need to prove you wrong being my time and past commentaries on this type matter, as can be affirmed by a number of other long time ATS members, can readily be obtained, found, or administered. Brave words for one who has not seen ATS evolve as some of us longer-termed ATS residents have witnessed and harshly encountered.

1. I quoted fine - the ATS system seems to have screwed up, I checked, all the HTML is in the right place.

2. OK? I have been here since 04 -I started a new account last year...
+
Put up with? Did someone force you to "put up with things"?
I was only saying I get smacked by the alleged "liberal biased" mods all the time.

3.BTW its CHORD as in MUSICAL harmonic formation if you wanna be captain correction. No, it does not hurt as it is simply my perspective... OHHHHHH it hurts now!
I'm hurtin real good pa.

4. Like I said I have been on here since 04, I have seen ATS change dramatically...
However this is the first period where a Republican is not the president, things change
and I would be in agreement had this been posted two years ago.

When I first joined ATS I found myself dealing with the ill rational pro Bush , pro Iraq war crowd who were living with there heads up there asses . Later on the anti war crowd would suffer from the same problem . It never occurred to most of the Bush supporters that people like me don't hate Bush it just that we could see what a disaster Rumsfeld was before they did . Towards the end of the Bush admin other then his few remain die hard supporters , there was dead silence from that camp . I suppose that could lead to accusations of ATS having a left wing slant .

Myself I find that most of the time that dealing with the anti establishment is a waste of time . This is because even if there beloved Ron Paul was elected most of his supporters would turn on him because he would be now perceived as being a part of the establishment .

How many anti-Bush threads were there on any given day in the recent threads list during the last few years up to and including right after the election? Bush is no longer in office, therefore people talk about him less. Obama is currently in office, therefore people talk about him more.

In response to the OP, I agree. I've caught it from both sides depending on what thread I'm posting in. The liberals call me a neo-con and the conservatives call me a liberal, though they generally don't use such nice terms for it. I hate both parties, and hate Bush and Obama equally. They're both lairs and con-men, just as most politicians are, and I for one still won't drink the kool-aid. Didn't drink it for the last President, won't drink it for this one.

Couldn't care less if people can't see far enough past labels to see that I don't fit neatly into any political category, actually. Those who like to throw the labels around are easily over-looked in favor of reading posts from those who know how to discuss topics, regardless of their political leanings, instead of tossing insults at me to see what will stick.

ATS the past few years years= Left leaning.
ATS the past 6 months=Right leaning only because the lefties have left the forums because they have been constantly bombarted By Obama screw ups that they can no longer speak for the man nor his actions.

I hardly ever see lefties on here anymore unless it is a topic praising the annointed one, or if it is a topic bashing the old guy who is no longer there.
Or gay/Lesbian threads. They run the gay threads, I dare not step into that jungle with a different opinion if I wanted to escape alive.

In the end though, it just depends on what part of ATS you like to frequent. Some categories dont see left/right, like the aliens and philosophy topics.

Edit- Eastside!
