As previously announced, both Citigroup and General Motors will officially get the boot from the Dow Jones Industrial Average this morning.

Replacing them were Travelers Corp. and Cisco Systems, respectively.

I bet you that 5 years ago no one would have believed you if you said these two companies were to be removed from the Dow Jones.

Not really sure how this effects the calculation of the DOW .. Should give it a boost.. I forget how the DOW is calculated.. that economic class wasn't the most exciting to pay attention to lol.

I find Travelers to be an interesting choice.. Cisco is obvious to me, but Travelers?

I don't see that company.. by any means.. as being a leader in it's industry.
