These photographs were taken in South Carolina on May 26, 2009 during a thunderstorm. The witness thought that it was some kind of military aircraft,
but did not hear any engine sound (possibly because of the thunderstorm). There's no other information supplied, such as the speed of the aircraft,
etc. They don't look to be CGI to me, but I'm far from being an expert on that. I've seen pictures like this before that turned out to possibly be
a model RC craft of some type or the other, but I thought that the best place to have a fruitful disussion of this is here on ATS. So, what are your
thoughts?

There are some great triangle photos and while it could be a kite it could be quite legit as well. I think these craft are our's. I talked to
somebody who said he had seen one and told him my opinion and he thought I was probably right but was still blown away by what he saw. Can't say that
I blame him.

I'm not sure what it is. It doesn't look like a conventional aircraft to me because it has such a 'boxy' shape. It also seems like it might not be
that large, but don't ask me to quantify that because I'm not sure I could explain. It's just the impression I get from looking at the photos.

Nice pics but its a bit too conveniently framed, dead center..like the photog wasn't even phased by it? And only 3 pics? Someone pull he exif (Im too
lazy atm) if its a DSLR theres no reason why theyre should be lots more pics.
Doesn't look like a kite it seems rather largish, no evidence of lines or line removal via cloning.

I Don't believe it's a kite...and here's why...if you notice the trees in the background...they are being moved by what seems to be a strong
wind..typically associated with a thunderstorm. If this was a kite...in a strong wind,,,that would be a heck of a pic to catch that doesn't even
begin to be blurry. Also, if it was windy,,,i would expect some sort of shape distortion of the object,,,,I see none! Very nice pic...flag and star!

This thing is man-made!
A drone of some kind, unmanned.

I emailed the webmaster over at the original website to see if the submitter included any additional info on the pictures. Right now the supplied info
is pretty thin.

Looks like an updated version of the stealth......but it is cool looking to say the least. Keep an eye on this one, like to see where it goes from
here.

It looks real to me.
The thing is, what is it really?
The size seems to be a bit small, especially in the first pic.
It does hint of a kite, but if it is real, I would say that because of the apparent size of it or lack thereof, it most likely is unmanned. A
"drone" of some kind.
Very convincing.
There is something there, but without a closer view, impossible to say.

It looks like a smaller craft flying fairly low. The different aspects from what appears to be the same vantage point hint at an RC model flying
around or an unmanned drone.

It almost looks like a low flying X-43A scramjet.
Striking resemblance, no?

For how close it is to the ground, and being compared to the trees and light post, it looks to be a pretty small craft. I don't even think someone
could fit into it, so I would have to say it's either a drone of some sort, or just a jazzed up model that I've been seeing everywhere lately.

Who flies a kite in the middle of a thunder storm?
Nice clear pics. I am betting this is man made.

I think Xtrame may have it right:
On the video it shows a rough schematic of the Scramjet being 12' X 5".
www.youtube.com...
my only argument is ( I may have missed it in the video), if it is a manmade object ie the scramjet, shouldn't there be a contrail of some sort?
