Glass Rain
Stop the rain. Reminder of all things broken
A cascade of memories, revolting
Unwelcome visions of past, flashing
Strangling beauty as it withers away
The last of the worlds appeal lost
Exhaled with a final breath
Days of laughter buried deep beyond wrenching sorrow
Seems so far behind... a smiling sky... sunshine laden promise
All demolished
The joys and "could be's"
Washed away in the rain that day...
Showered in glass as it spun her in a moment of glimmer
As if she were a porcelain statuette being smashed to the ground
And the droplets bounce upon her face, rhythmically, in glowing misery
And it's all in red
The rain is blood and glass surrounds her
No more shining splendor as reality crashes
Just deaths gift packaged pretty, especially for her
And in sardonic mockery, the rain veils her tears
As a thousand dreams flash for an instant and wave goodbye
