This is a great scene in a generally underated movie. Good evocation of evil.

The whole thing is worth watching, but pay special attention to the way the CIA director's eyes change at 8:20-8:23 or so.

"Flowers are a contunual reminder of our mortality. Do you appreciate flowers?"

"No. No, they make me sick. And they smell like death. I had two brothers die young. But let me tell you...there are worse things than death."

"Yes?"

"There is such a thing as evil."

Another great scene from the same flick.

"Presidents don't threaten, Jack. They don't have to."

(Warning, strong language)

Two excellent scenes from an outstanding movie. The black eyes are creepy and they work to convey the evil of the man. The second scene is reminiscent of "JFK" with the subtleties of who really is in power.
