The story of a rebel with a cause, takes place in a future where humans have become drones in a decaying,post- industrial hive. Natural childbirth is forbidden. Childhood is sacrificed to regimented training,education, and socialization, completed by the age of six. Only then may a child be assigned a mother, who looks after his/her practical needs and no more.

Is this the direction our society and planet is headed?

The first part reminds me alot of Brave New World, which is amazing, in my view possibly a better story than 1984 (however, 1984 was alot more accreate).

I would highly recormend reading it if you have not already, if not there is a film version on google video.

Wicked film. Makes you ask questions about the outside world as well as the authority figures. Well worth a watch.
