The point of the protest vote is that in Britain, one of the freedoms we still have left is to vote for whomsoever we please. Some of the people who vote for the BNP do so because they know that if one or more of their candidates get elected, it will cause a very big commotion, and force both politicians and the population to discuss the hows and whys behind it, and what they have to do to prevent the whole population from turning BNP.

The liklihood of BNP ever becoming a significant party in British Politics is remote, assuming that the major parties take heed of this warning, and develop policies to prevent Britain from being a foreign country to its' own population.

The concerted effort of the mainstream media, all political parties and even church groups could not stop us.

I know a lot of people who rather than not vote at all voted BNP just to make the mainstream political parties sit up and take notice. I think a lot of people, including members of the labour, Liberal and Conservative parties are missing the point of why the radicals got so many votes and don't realise that it is down to their fiddling of the expenses and taking the British tax payer to the cleaners. They would rather try to accuse a certain section of the British community of being rascist than own up to their own criminal and morally corrupt acts.

I think that is exactly the reason why they have won their [2?] seats..Demonizing such a party works in reverse and in favor in the polls for them..The same thing happenend with Vlaams Belang in Belgium [although they have lost now] and with the PVV in Holland, hell the courts here even try to persectute the partyleader Wilders and take his freedom of speech..The results are even more votes for him[they consider the media pretty left over here]...For the record the PVV [more anti-muslim but not a race based party] has won 4 seats in the EP and is about to be the [second] biggest party in the Netherlands in 2011..

Im from Humberside/yorkshire area and can safetly say it was a protest vote to why people in this area voted BNP.
The east part of england (especially the hull/grimsby area) is a VERY deprived area, unemployment is very high and the goverment just dont seem to want to invest in this area and help familys support themselves.
This area was supported by the fishing industry, since its collapse.. people are finding it very hard to make a living, lots living in total poverty.

Crime is higher here than in most other areas of the UK, people are desperate for employment they are doing anything to get enough money just to feed their familys.

To top it all off. this area is over run by polish & muslims now.. its where nearly all the muslim immigrants end up (Bradford) that come to the uk. They are taking most the council houses, causing people already here to go on a waiting lis.. some for upto 8 years.
Then we have all the polish workers, they come and work on the oil refinerys.. or factorys, agriculturial work especially.. hence the protests & walk outs at the oil refinreys just lately.

There is a really bad feeling atm round the east coast, everybody is getting sick of any new work coming availiable.. being contracted out to foreign companys who most employ Italians and polish to come work here.

Theres 2 floating hotels mored up in grimsby docks, both full of italian workers... who are here because the goverment contracted work out to a foriegn company.. who decided only to employ 5% of its workforce from this area.

So to sum it up, people voted BNP for this region because they are sick of the goverment spending most taxpayers money/investments down south england (london/kent).. the only thing we get up here is millions of immigrants moving into propetys that have been left empty by people who have had to move to other parts of the country.. just to find work/support themselves.

Theres streets in bradford where none muslims arent even allowed to walk down.
Theres restaurants and shops in beverly where you cant even get served unless your polish.

People of this area have had enough of living in poverty and being made to feel second class citizens, hence why so many voted BNP.
Now hopefully the goverment will look at the reason why and hopefully sort this situation out.

I think most of the propaganda against the BNP has worked to be honest, Let me just say i didnt vote for the BNP or anybody for that matter.
