I can see all the divide and conquer nonsense, see straight through it...
just look through history, been happening over and over again.

The BNP Im not sure and I dont know enough about them, no thugs should be in politics but we already have some cheating lying ones in power anyways.

its all about dividing the nation really and boy its divided, what I will say is though I am disgraced at the scenes with the eggs being thrown all over the BNP leader Nick Griffin.

They say oh yes free speech, dont make me laugh, it looks like the BNP aint allowed a voice.

Another hypothetical, although maybe I'm missing something (and what with me not being a genius that's quite probable) so correct me if I'm wrong...

Say the BNP were elected and fulfilled their pledge to send all immigrants and non-white Brits 'home'. The previously mentioned cheap labour is removed leaving companies having to pay the rest of us minimum wage at the very least. So in order to save money (which all businesses want) wouldn't companies just close up their UK sites and move to India or wherever?

We've seen many companies do this already, and that is with a supply of cheap(ish) labour here now! Wouldn't we end up with even less jobs as a result?

The House of Lords made an 8 month investigation into immigration and decided that the current record immigration levels are bringing no benefit to the UK.

It concluded:

- There is little or no economic benefit to Britain from the present high level of immigration. The immigrants are not needed to fill labour shortages or help fund the state pension for retiring Britons.

- High levels of immigration threaten to price millions of Britons out of the housing market over the next 20 years.

- Government statistics on immigration are "seriously inadequate" and compromise the ability accurately to set interest rates and allocate £100 billion in public funding.

- Certain groups, including the low-paid, some ethnic minorities and young people seeking to get on the jobs ladder may suffer because of competition from immigrants.

- Immigrants have an "important economic impact" on public services with some schools struggling to cope with the rapidly-rising number of children who do not speak English as a first language.

I read this and found it interesting.

Immigration and this insidious conspiracy of silence

yeah, yeah I know it's the Daily Mail; but it does have the word conspiracy in the title.

I found this quite funny

bnp.org.uk...

"
Go to the National Black Police Association

www.nbpa.co.uk...

and you will notice, on their web pages (added fairly recently amid criticisms that they are a racist organisation):

The definition of "Black" does not refer to skin colour.

The emphasis is on the common experience and determination of the people of African, African-Caribbean and Asian origin to oppose the effects of racism.

I would say that we need a...

National White Police Association

and that...

“The definition of "White" does not refer to skin colour.

The emphasis is on the common experience and determination of the people of Caucasian origin to oppose the effects of reverse discrimination.”

There was a member of the BNP on George galloway on friday night. When confonted about how they would carry out their policy of relocating ethnic minorities, BNP member answers - they will be rounded up by the police and Army. When challenged on BNP wanting to remove Britain from Europe Union, asking who we will trade with. BNP member answerrs NEW ZEALAND. What a horrific future that would be

The fact that immigration and EU membership is being debated is vindication in itself for the protest vote.

The vast majority of people who voted for them do not want a BNP government and don't agree with forceful repatriation...we just want the current policy stopping and a sensible policy adopted which looks after British interests first.

New Zealand are very loyal and steadfast allies of ours and deserve more respect, as do Australia and Canada.

I think you've missed my point, I wasn't talking about the economic benefit (or lack of) caused by current immigration policy.

The fact is that many companies currently save money by using cheap (less than minimum wage) immigrant labour. If you take said labour away (as the BNP proposes) companies would be faced with wage cost increases as they would have to pay "real Brits" minimum wage at the very least to fill the jobs vacated by the removed immigrants. Faced with that prospect I believe an awful lot of companies would just move abroad, meaning UK operations closing and a lot of "real Brits" facing the dole...

I hadn't really. The problem is that no one has actually done any empirical study only on the effect on industy, to the best of my knowledge, so the best that we have is the House of Lords report which looks at the UK economy as a whole.

They concluded that there was little or no overall economic benefit to the British economy (which naturally includes British manufacturing) from the present high level of immigration.

The House of Lords had taken the approach of comparing income per head in the UK with and without immigration and found that their is almost no difference. The total UK GDP was bigger but with the increased population, no one was any the better off.

Logically it would appear that any industry that only exists because of cheap labour immigration would not be missed if we didn't have immigration. The average income in the UK would be the same.

The report can be found here:

www.publications.parliament.uk...

Interestingly, the House of Lords made calls for the minimum wage to be enforced with migrant workers.

If you can find a report that deals specifically with the effects of immigration on industry I would love to read it.

There is something wrong if UK inc only exists by exploiting cheap immigrant workers.

I'm not comfortasble with that. Kind of like slavery.

Okay sorry, my mistake, but my point was just a hypothetical which I was basing on the recent trend of businesses cutting costs by just buggering off to India or wherever. I think that there are a lot of businesses here using cheap immigrant labour and I certainly wouldn't say we'd do all right without them. If they go it'll surely have a detrimental effect on the economy. Am I wrong in thinking this?

losing jobs = less money spent = more closing businesses = more unemployment

...or am I missing something here?

UK politics is in complete dire straits. I personally can't see a way out of this mess.

The electorate and those people who care about this country want New Labour gone and the only way to do that is to vote Tory. Unfortunately it will probably end up being nothing but a wasted or meaningless vote, as by then we will probably be governed from Brussels and the Tories will no longer have any power. The future of our free country hangs on the Irish vote. I sincerely hope & pray that they vote no again.

On 1st January 2009 the Lisbon Treaty removed the last 20%, ie all remaining power, from our Westminster Parliament, which became defunct on that day. It will continue the charade for the EU’s sake, to conceal the truth from the carefully dumbed down British Public, until the EU has consolidated its power.

On 11th June 2009 we have bogus elections to the sham Brussels Parliament, the only elections we will get in the future.

Westminster’s five year term expires on 5th May 2010 and a British General Election is due. The six treaties make no provision for an election to our Parliament. If by that time the EU feels it has consolidated its absolute power, it will use it to cancel that election and to close Westminster.

The EU has always planned to break England up by ruling directly from Brussels through the 9 EU regional capitals (Exeter, Manchester etc.), by-passing Westminster, from which every function will be removed.

www.eutruth.org.uk...

Is there any truth to this? It wouldn't surprise me if Gordon Brown already knows, hence the reason he stubbornly refuses to hold a general election, even though the majority of people in this country want one now.

Ken Clarke: You won't be getting a referendum. We won't tear up the Lisbon Treaty if Ireland votes yes before election.

Political humor. Thought I'd share these jokes.

Why are MPs like a baby's nappy?
They need to be changed frequently and for the same reason!

How can you tell if an MP is telling you lies and distortions of the truth?
His lips will be moving!

What do you do if you ever come across an honest MP?
Don't worry, it probably won't happen in your lifetime!

What do you call 50 MPs in a bus driving off the top of Beachy Head?
A good start!

How many MPs does it take to change a light bulb?
Only one and about £2000 on the expenses!

Why is it tough being an MP?
Half your reputation is ruined by lies; the other half is ruined by the truth!

Why does the word 'politics' describe the occupation of MPs so well?
'Poli' in Latin means 'many' and 'tics' means 'bloodsucking creatures'.

Why is honesty in British politics much like oxygen?
The higher up you go, the scarcer it becomes.

What is the trouble with political jokes ?
They tend to get elected!

I see no need for shame. I do see a wake up call for the elitist British political establishment, who for years have been calling people who object to uncontrolled immigration, the EU bureaucracy, and forced acceptance on the general population "little Englanders".

The little Englanders have started to find their teeth, and are biting back. If the mainstream established parties want to keep their hold on power, perhaps they should listen for a change, instead of looking down their noses at the average British citizen and ignoring them.

I see no need for 'shame' either.

The people who voted BNP did so because they want a return to the 'old ways'. The BNP promises them that with a load of bollocks rhetoric and impractical policy laced with tawdry Anglo-Saxon romanticism.

Simple.

The BNP are a nonsense and a nothing, propagated by the Liblabcon establishment as a 'boogie man' that they can blame and use as slander against people who simply want to take a stance on common-sense issues such as immigration and the EU. If it wasn't for 'anonymous donations' - and indeed substantial donations from ex-KKKers, the BNP would be finished. I doubt they get £50 in donations from the delusional pensioners, hag faced crones, slovenly harridans and brush-browed trolls that support them at home in Britain...

It's no surprise that Griffin was elected off the back of Tory vote-rigging. In Tory wards across the country, the ballot was ironed shut to conceal the name of UKIP (who are likely to make a dent in the Tory vote); as a result, UKIP came a mere hundred-or-so votes short of the number needed to take the final seat in the NW. This meant Griffin was elected.

Ultimately, his election was a shock even to him. It may even have buggered them over, as Griffin cannot now run for PM in the general. Without their big Cambridge lawyer to front them, the BNP are exposed as the troglodytes and buffoons that they are.

If you ask me, it's far more depressing to read that Labour and the EU are trying to gerrymander BNP membership policy, and furthermore 'ban' them from teaching in schools.

This New Labour government is the least British Govt. that ever was or that ever will be. They've dragged the unmatched traditions of British liberal socialism, personal liberty and uncompromising democracy into the sodden earth.

Vote UKIP; if you don't, you're just #ing stupid.

Colourful post and something I can generally agree with, however, saying that if you don't vote UKIP your 'effing stupid is a bit much, isn't it? There are other options, for starters, leaving aside the attack on personal ideology.

Call out to all the brits, call your MPs and pull a nice boo-fest. Run him out with his swastika underwear over his head.

Understand that freedom of speech is good, but once it is used to infect the masses with ideas of violence and division, then for the good of all it is best to allow it not to be said. This, however, is only for Nazis. People like Nazis simply have to be silenced There is a way to solving immigration and cultural problems without dicrimination and violence.

There's far worse than Nick Griffin elected to the Euro parliament, trust me. Some of the EU states have quite active and very popular far right movements.

That's the problem. see my edit above.

The simple fact is that in order to preserve freedom, limits on the freedom of those who would seek to destroy that freedom are a must. In order for a free society to remain free, those who seek to destroy the freedom must be combated violently with words, logic, and the pen.

Censorship might be a bit much, yes. But you don't need to censor them. Simply destroy them with the above nonviolent methods.
