Not sure if I'm exactly putting this in the correct forum, but I didn't see any other spot that fit, so here it goes.


A couple months ago I first attempted meditation, and I decided to do a guided meditation with a recording. I wasn't able to get much of any results with the audio playing but it helped me relax and get an idea of what to do. So with the audio off, I was able to go to a place in my meditation that I could certainly feel. I was still connected to my body and aware of it in the room, but my spirit was certainly in another place. The first spirit guide was a man, I can't recall his name, nor can I recall his advice, unfortunately I did not write down what happened.

The second spirit guide was a woman, and I can't recall her name, but we did talk for awhile. I felt extremely connected to her on romantic level, something she kept telling me not to do. she told me to go find someone where I am now, that I couldn't be with her where I was. I respected this, she gave me some advice, and I left.

I felt very connected with both guides, like I knew them, the first one almost seemed like a different version of myself I suppose one could say. The second I think was my soul mate, as I felt connected to her on a slightly different level than the other one.

Oddly, as I was leaving my meeting with the second spirit guide, I felt a presence behind me, something dangerous. I turned and some kind of dark shadow ran into the woods of this spirit world, and though I couldn't see it, I knew it was waiting there. I also felt that it was planning to attack me. Whatever it was, it was dangerous, and I think it didn't want me to see my spirit guides again.

A couple weeks later I attempted the same meditation, but as soon as I was entering what I guess is the spirit realm, I felt a presence and could almost see it's foot come down to my throat and step on me. When I came back to my body I felt as someone had been choking me and it took me awhile to catch my breathe.

Well, after all of this, I haven't been able to meditate since. I would like to, but I either become scared that I don't know what I'm doing, and am allowing something evil in, or I just can't concentrate/relax. This had been my first and second night of meditation, so I'm really sure I need more control over certain aspects.

If anyone has some information on how to help, or maybe has a similar experience that they would like to share that would be great.

COuld you describe the process of your guided meditation??

They way i avoid negative influences during my meditation is i purge them.

A technique which i use was suggested by edgar cayce while he was under trance.

Basically i lay there and picture and feel all the things that bind me to the physical world leaving my body from around the area of my heart chakra. Also all negativity and desires.

for example ill picture the memory of my family and loved ones leaving me, then ill picture material wants and attachments leaving me.

After that i keep them close levitating above where im laying. Then i begin the trance state.

Ive always done this and have never come in contact with any sort of negative forces.

Ah, well i used to focus on my Solar Plexus to channel energy, however i have found the heart chakra to be far better. It seems to resonate harder than the rest especially when traveling into other realms.

perhaps trying to center your energy there will defend you better.

Also if relaxation is a problem, i would suggest ingesting some Vitamin C. Apparently the pineal love vitamin c.

Ive never meditated myself. However, Ive had many many nights of sleep paralysis. Those of you that dont know what this is / havent experienced it. It is when you wake up from dreaming suddenly, you cannot move, speak or anything.

Right, when it happens to me I feel a very great sense of dread. Almost like a malicious entity is causing it, almost like a personal attack on my soul. At first I used to struggle, fight all in vain, scared. I quickly realised, these entities cannot actually harm me, they only have power over me because I fear them, and i fear them because they are unknown to me.

Knowing that I am an immortal being myself, undestroyable by them, I now laugh whenever I have a incident of sleep paralysis. Its almost like, haha you really are trying hard to scare me arent you? Please stop wasting your time you silly little malicious being, now go away, I was sleeping. Run along now. Bye bye.

Thats just my $2c , i hope it helps. Know that you are the child of a higher being, who loves you eternally. You cannot be harmed, you give them power by thinking they have power over you. Like you are letting your guard down. Seriously, accept it for what it is, know you are immortal, a creation of love. Be free.

wow, thanks everyone for your input on this. I certainly have a lot to work on. As for the sleep paralysis, I do recall vaguely feeling something similar when I was young, under 5 years old. My memory of actually waking and being paralysed like this is rather sketchy, I mostly remember nightmares from that time, but I still know what you mean.

Actually, I was having nightmares that I'm sure were being caused by some sort of evil entity. I didn't actually talk to anyone about it at the time, so I was very scared to sleep at the time. Basically, the recurring dreams were of something trying to crush me, make me scared, and just over all terrifying at that age. Eventually though I decided that they were my dreams, and I wasn't going to be scared any more, so when I was awake I would envision being courageous, and actually being stronger than this beast. Eventually this worked, and the dreams did not come back after that. I still had nightmares like any child of course, but the evil presence was gone. Maybe if you wanted the paralysis to stop all together you could go about a similar method? I was a child at the time, so the theory is rather simple, not sure if it would actually work. Just throwing it out there.

Finally, yes, I believe as well that we are indestructible beings, but i've only recently begun to know this, so I'm having to break down a lot of conditioning I learned from my life.
