Villagers fight Taliban after Pakistan mosque blast

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – Villagers in northwest Pakistan have attacked Taliban militants killing seven of them in revenge for a bomb attack on a mosque that killed at least 40 people, a top government official and residents said on Sunday.

It was the latest in a series of instances of people turning their guns on the Taliban in recent weeks and trying to force them out of their areas and will encourage the Pakistani government which needs public support to defeat the militants.

I wonder who really bombed that mosque? It does say further down that article that the Taliban were only suspected.

Would be a good way to get people on your side against the Taliban eh?

I saw this in the news earlier today and couldn't agree with you more. I was all for going after the Taliban but somehow we ended up in Irag. I'll never forget the shock of seeing them blowing up fantastic religious works of art, especially the Bahmian Buddhist statues back in 2000-2001.

As a woman the idea of living under their Sharia laws is one of the more frightening things I can think of.
