Some of the comments in this thead that make him out to be some horrible sick freak are a bit over the top. Who cares if he enjoys a little asphyx?

Lots of guys watch porn, LOTS of them. In some countries having a heart attack while watching porn would be considered scandalous and the guy would be considered a complete pervert. How many that are criticizing Carradine so viciously have never watched 2 min porn huh?

People can do what they like in the privacy of their own homes (or closets) and as long as it doesn't hurt others no one else has a right to criticize.

Certainly you are not suggesting that we just condone peoples behaviors when they cross over into some sick form of sexuality. We have a moral obligation to society as a whole to point out both the dangers and the absolute sickness that some people in this world will do just to get a moment of satisfaction. I guess society should just tolerate anything.

LOL, you know, you're right. In fact, I wish more HUMONS would practice this kind of un-procreation, ha.

BTW, I feel sorry for the guy that will have to deliver his eulogy, try doing that with a straight face. 30 seconds into it I think I would just bust out laughing .. "Dude, lol, I just can't do this ... sorry ... ha!"

really? Its sinful? care to show me anywhere in any religious documents where it says choking yourself while having intercourse is a sin? or is that pure opinion? I thought when trying to figure out what is going on in a situation you were suppose to leave bias out and operate objectively?

Just because YOU think its heinous or dirty, doesnt mean everyone does. I dont subscribe to the notion myself, lol its a little too risky for my taste, but that doesnt make anyone that does it a vile person or a pervert, no more than your girlfriend asking you to smack her butt during intercourse, makes her a sexual deviant......to each their own.....

And I suppose YOU will be the one to decide what society should NOT condone?

Not because it is harmful to third parties, NOT against the law, but because you find it offensive? Great then, I guess you can censor all movies and books, you can decide a suitable dress code is, you can busy yourself in the private lives of honest citizens, and you can decide the proper way to masterbate behind closed doors.

Taliban anyone? Oh wait, the Taliban didn't go so far as to restrict private self-pleasuring, they just check to make sure armpits were shaved.

It is pretty well implied in the Bible that one masturbation is wrong and two taking on sexual practices that could lead to your death are both sinful and foolish. The Bible takes great care to warn us that the "Wages of sin are death." Looks like he just got paid in full.

how do you know he was masturbating? How do you know that there wasnt someone else there, even if he was "spilling his seed in the belly of a whore"?

Sounds like you dont have anything to back up your statements.....i would love for you to show me where its implied that what David did was sinful...nothing? Nope? Just your opinion?

having an opinion is fine, but dont start spouting bible stuff at me calling the man or anyone else a sinner because of how he chose to have sex and or masturbate (we dont know which at this point).

Also, let he who is without sin cast the first stone mr.grapes

Well some people need to decide what is acceptable or pretty soon everyone will just be practicing whatever sick sexual practices they can imagine. Is that really what we want?

Just look at how society works. We make laws to limit all kinds of behavior. Some societies have laws to limit private ownership of guns, even though most people with guns do not kill anyone. We have laws in the USA to limit people from smoking for the sake of their own health and the cost it causes to society.

So what is wrong with creating laws to limit the very sexual practices that could lead to death by suffocation. There would be a cost to society if Mr. Carradine was poor and his estate could not afford to bury him, or to provide for his family after his demise. There are all kinds of laws on the books to protect us from our own sinfulness. Granted these things are going away as society becomes sicker and thinks that anything should go, but it will only lead to the death or injury of many.

Oh so you think we should ban that too huh? Wow, you must live one incredibly pure life to have such standards. You and all of your good Christian friends, they never masturbate either huh?

I am impressed. Your amazing purity gives you the right to call others sick. Well you apparently are better than the majority of humans!

Well he was obviously doing somethhing of a sick sexual nature. You do not end up tied up in a closet choked to death by accident. I would say that having sex with a paid prostitute or auto-asphyxiating ones self to death would be a considered a sin by just about any mainstream religion.

There must be some moral authority or people will come up with all kinds of sick sexual behavior to their own demise. We live in a world that is full of atheists and false Christians who think that either God is dead or he never existed to begin with. If that is true then we should allow people to do whatever they want, because life is not sacred in the least. Under those lines of thinking we are nothing more than the animals we slaughter and serve up for dinner.

Well I try to follow God's precepts as closely as possible, and yes I do contain my sexual pleasures within the bonds of marriage just as I have been led by the Bible. How would my wife feel if I was running around dropping my seed on the floor while I am thinking about one of her friends? She would feel as though I cheated on her, and rightfully so. We all know that the only difference between imagining something and doing it is that we do not act upon our fantasies out of the fear of consequences. Even Jesus said it is a sin to think of a woman in a sexual way unless she is your wife. So that is proof that thinking about it is the same as doing it in the eyes of God. Do you really want God looking down and seeing you locked in a closet choking yourself to death just to get a moment of pleasure?

Lest it harm none, or is against someones will, i dont see anything wrong with it.

Just because you dont agree with it doesnt give you the right to throw the bible at it.....THAT is being a false christian. You cannot use the bible and condemnation just because something doesnt suit your ideals or offends you.

That my friend is misuse of the bible! (if thats the path you try to take)

On the other hand, we have no right to infringe on anyones preferences in what they do in their private lives, unless it harms another person, and or is against their will!

So you say the bible says its a sin to masturbate, but it also says its preferable to spill your seed in the belly of a whore.......please Mr.grapes make up your mind. You cant use the bible to one end but ignore the other.

Yeah, but the bible is a made-up book about a couple of goatherders and their experiences on psychedelics. I'm sick of religious nutters spouting bollocks from the bible as if it is the truth.

There is nothing wrong with masturbation. I like killing kittens

Well obviously sick sexual practices do harm people, even when they are by themselves. Mr. Carradine did not just trip and fall into a closet and hang himself while the other cord magically wrapped itself around his genitals.

I dont think that what they meant in the Bible was to go out and have intercourse with the first prostitute you can find. It is just trying to paint a picture that wasting your seed by spilling it on the floor is even worse than dropping it into some disease ridden, drug addicted prostitute.

Are you trying to say your wife would be ok if she found out you had sex with a prostitute. I highly doubt she would see that in a good light. It is our job as men to set a good example and be good leaders of our families. How does choking yourself for a moment of gratification achieve anything positive for those you love?

Well at least have the good sense to not choke yourself to death while you are doing it. See what happens when you let people just follow any sick sexual path that they desire?

None here have the right to judge what anyone does in the privacy of their own home or hotel room.

If the practice is not illegal... then who cares?

Go about with you're own views of the world, and live your "moral" life... and let others live theirs.

And why has religion popped up in this thread.. it has no bearing on the topic.....

-edit- With enough digging.. even the most "moral" person has dirty secrets in their closets... that includes everyone who acts like they are above reproach in this thread.

So ahh, how is it worse then having sex with said diseased whore? The bible says its not ok to masturbate, but a whore is preferable, and your retort was that a whore is worse, now going AGAINST what the bible says. Im not sure you understand where im coming from here man.

Yes it harmed him, didnt harm anyone else.....things happen all the time to people, they have to decide for themselves......we dont need a moral police, or as sonya pointed out, an entity run like the Taliban or Sharia law (sp).

Nobody said it was OK to go to prostitutes if you are married...im just pointing out the flaw in your logic.

Its just as wrong to misuse the bible because something offends you, i would consider that a bigger sin against christianity than this man pleasuring himself with something tied around his neck

Well I would say the practice of auto-erotic asphyxiation should be banned as it has killed a number of people. Is it not the governments role to protect people from their own foolishness. I guess we should get rid of all the controls on the stock market and let everyone be conned or we should ban talk about taking guns away from ordinary citizens.

Well I would say that if he is commiting the act of autoerotic asphyxiation then he is commiting a heinous act. What kind of mental illness does a person have to have to do such things? It is sinful and disgusting.

Utterly baffling. I'd love to know how it's sinful, since I'm pretty sure the bible didn't cover it.

Cars, planes, coffee, sports, kitchens, electricity, people, guns, etc etc.

Where do you stop banning, on that basis?

I think it's in the bit where Jesus(pect) said" Come unto me".
