Greece are far from the team they were in 04.
Korea have a good side. They will go through with Argentina for group b.

Argentina should ease past Nigeria.
1 -0 so far.

Is it just me, or does it sound like there is a swarm of giant mosquito's at every game.

I think it is those free plastic trumpets they handed out to all the fans.

It does my . in. I keep looking for the aeroguard.

Well i'm off down the local with my daughters in a little while to watch the England/USA match so i will bid you all fairwell and good luck until later.

Of course i'll be rooting for England, but as i'm not a huge football fan and considering the amount of time i've spent on ATS, i'd feel gutted for either team if they lost.

My prediction is 2-2.

My eldest daughter says 5-2 to the US.

Youngest says 2-1 to the US.

As you can see they have utter confidence in our team lol.

It was funny listening to Sky news earlier, the presenter was chatting with the US sports minister type guy and brought up the 1966 world cup win for England.

The US guy mentioned the fact that Brits always bring up the one time they've ever one it, but forget that in 1950, the only time the US have ever played England.....the US won 1-0.

On that note...let battle commence!

greece is absolutly no longer the team they have been in 2004 . OMG that.s so long ago

i bet they won.t have the slightest chance in the WC since they have to play argentina and nigeria too

argentina ended the match 1:0

what do you guys think of the vuvuzelas - the more or less horrible instruments with the aweful loud sound?

the german moderator complained a couple of times since we are not used to them although FIFA made cleare before the cup that the south africans are allowed to use them

we are more used to cheers and singing

just read this about the

swarm of giant mosquito's at every game.

nice discribtion

it is for sure a bit unusual.
i have started to reduce volume since most comments of the moderator are not what i want to hear, so the vuvuzela sound is reduced as well

ahhh I wanted Nigeria to win-
despite the fact they are not really good.
I can't stand Argentina.
lol

Oh well- happy that SKorea won.

And next match, England- USA- I don't have any prefference.
But I think, England has better chances.

Boston Tea Party ?

I fear it may be a repeat of the Burning of Washington DC in 1814 !

Recommendation ... turn off the volume ... all I can hear is the birdsong from outside, so soothing ... and no African trumpets !

Here's the teams coming out ... enjoy the game everyone !

That was funny....we have come home for the second half but we were watching the first half with about 200 people when they cut to ads....you should have heard it!!!

I would just like to ask the England goalie how his greasy kebab was before the match...only a shedload of grease could make you miss that save!

I reckon he had money on the US winning.....i'll get a conspiracy out of this yet!

I'm now watching the rest of the game at home, with the kids, on the sofa....with fish and chips!

Well played everyone....although there should have been far more goals.

I'm glad Green saved what could have been a second goal for the US, if only to save him becoming a hate figure back home.
