Obama has moved the US irreversibly in a number of directions. He will not have to win re-election in 2012, he has succeeded in his assigned mission.
Sotomayor will be approved for the Supreme Court and that will help lock in many changes down the road. The current Republican party is simply
Democrat-lite at best. True conservatives are no longer elected. The few Repugs that are elected have moved to center or farther left to compete.
People "can't handle the truth" as the truth brings restraint, fiscal responsibility and no free lunches. I am reminded at this time of FDR
launching the greatest Ponzi scheme ever devised, the Social Security Act. Prior to that most people remained self-sufficient throughout their lives.
When we became ill or reached advanced age prior to this, our local community and more often our extended family took responsibility for us not the
government. We were not owned! But the bankers effectively destroyed communities and extended families with the stock market crash. Think of the
lunacy of a government convincing its' people that when they reach a pre-determined age they will no longer be expected to support themselves and
contribute. They will be cared for by their government. How scary is that premise? Well, that's what we're getting ten-fold now with Obama's nanny
state. He, the new socialist government, will educate us, provide our jobs, provide "basic health-care", protect us with his civilian army and own
and operate the largest institutions providing us with financial and consumable products. The "company store" so to speak.
Back to FDR briefly. Consider for a moment Linus Pauling an American scientist, engineer, peace activist, author, and educator. Considered by many as
among the greatest scientists not only of his lifetime but of all time. He worked in the fields of quantum chemistry, molecular biology, and
orthomolecular medicine and was the only person two win two Nobel Prizes in unrelated fields. He was the foremost proponent of treating disease with
vitamins and micro-nutrients. An approach most people now consider primary to basic human health. Pauling lived to 93. Do we think for an instant that
this man, author of "How to Live Longer and Feel Better", shortly after reaching the age of 65 decided "That's it, time to kick back, collect my
checks and wait for death!"? Of course not. But I digress....
My point is this socialist ball started rolling many decades ago. Socialism now infects both major parties. Obama is just the latest, most ethnic and
most Hollywood of socialism's faces. The race card has likely irreversibly turned the tide toward socialism. Our best "hope for change" is that he
continues unfulfilling his promises and the minorities he has lied to and counts on to blindly follow him feel the pain of his lies. Only a concerted
effort will defeat the Socialist agenda. There is no organized, viable, conservative opposition at present.
