Will aliens be friendly or hostile?

I was watching a special on Komodo dragons last night. One of these beasts took down a goat and then a few more came out of the jungle and helped devour the goat bones and all. Nothing was left. Then they started looking at the film crew. The film crew took off. If it had been a hunting party, you would have had four dead lizards. So that's the question, I think. Do they send film crews or hunting parties? I think they send film crews.
