Venezuela Chavez says "Comrade" Obama more left-wing

www.reuters.com

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday that he and Cuban ally Fidel Castro risk being more conservative than U.S. President Barack Obama as Washington prepares to take control of General Motors Corp.

"Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right," Chavez joked on a live television broadcast.

Sadly he's right. Obama's Government takeover of private industry is exactly what people like Chavez and Castro love.

Obama is taking over private industry and appointing Czars for everything.

The American's people trust for politicians is really sad. When Obama says he doesn't want to control these companies and then he controls firings, where plants will be located and advertising budgets and the people put their .s in the sand.

Obama will not give up control of these things ad he doesn't want to.

The article also says:

During a decade in government, Chavez has nationalized most of Venezuela's key economic sectors, including multibillion dollar oil projects, often via joint ventures with the private sector that give the state a 60 percent controlling stake.

Sound familiar?

this is a great find!!! chavez is worried about being to the right of obama. could you have even imagined such a thing a year ago? a complete revolution in our country without a shot being fired. it all happened at the ballot box with the help of the mainstream media.

I hear a rumor that obama is looking to make some changes in regard to the tobacco industry. of course it could have been a joke but now days it's impossible to tell. absurdity has become reality. could that be the next industry nationalized?

Isn't Czar a russian / communist term ????

Shouldn't that be a Red one star-cresent flag for everyone ?

But surely having a left wing President is better than a right wing President eh?

The world is surely a safer place than having a fascist nutter like Bush in charge. At least Obama is attempting dialogue with his so called enemies, as opposed to killing innocent people.

Well I can agree with that Czar is a old russian title!

But there were no Czar's during the communist years and regime!

I seriously think that all of these czar and comrade lines are meant as a joke to most other countries.

After all did we (USA etc.) not want to see our comrades in Russia become more democratic? Now here they are appointing czar's over everything and taking hold of everything else they can get control of. SOUND FAMILIAR TO ANYONE? Pay attention to your history lesson people it will come back to bite us all in the bum.

Yep.
I think I liked it better when the rest of the world hated the US because at least we know that hate usually comes from envy and jealousy.
Now we must prepare to get slapped around because of a pushover Prez.

Welcome to the era of Carter II.

Really?... tell that to the millions of people under the boot of similar Communists/Socialists dictatorships...

You want to talk about the real murdering of innocent people? How about the over 110 million people murdered by left-wing dictators? and that's without counting the deaths in battle of soldiers...

Where the heck did people like you get your education?....

Oh, and BTW, in case people forget, or still believe the old lie that hitler was a right winger....Hitler was actually a Socialist, and we have now in the U.S. similar programs being implemented as those that existed during NAZI Germany, and in Communist dictatorships...but the left are too brainwashed to wake up even in the face of facts.

ahaha thats awsome. straight from the hoarses mouth. they know the game they play, and they know theres a new team on the field. I see nothing wrong with privatization when done correctly. hell, cuba has done some amazing things in terms of sustainability, job stimulation and localization of food. sometimes i think it would be much easier to give up the clustered consumer lifestyle and take er ez with communism

If you are trying to make light of the sitution it is not working, and btw, I have family in Cuba, as well as a couple other members, and they are suffering right now meanwhile you try to make a joke of their situation.

id also like to note that socialism and dictatorship arent necessarily bad. its all abou t the dictator... and his intentions. though it has never been truely successful in history... neither has capitalism. to say anything that isnt capitalism is a step in the wrong direction is redundant.

no country is all fun and games. hell, Sh*t happens everywhere you look. but theres good out there ttoo, not all doom and gloom. i am talking about real positive steps as a result of communism, that are being purposefully prevented here as a result of capitalism. why dont you go do some reading. not everythings about you

Really?... listen you better don't talk about what you obviously don't know. Capitalism was doing great until Democrat presidents #ed it up by implementing Socialist programs such as nationalizing banks when Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act, giving the power over U.S. banking over to the bankers, and then FDR outlawing Americans from owning gold, and puting us further into debt in a paper economy backed by nothing more than empty promises.

Capitalism was doing great until Socialism was introduced, and now the rich and powerful are claiming that to solve the problem they have to nationalize the U.S. even more...
