I guess this is a philosophical point. It would have to be worked out on a global scale, so no country could offer higher wages. Surely an improvement to how things are now.

And the liberal/socialist/fascist/communist/marxist dream is to prop up the poor man....but through taxation, regulation, intervention, etc. We only succeed in bringing down the rich man, until we are all equally poor.

Tax the rich and give to the poor, until there are no rich no more

Or untill everyone is a bit more equal. i also believe the land needs to be redistributed back to the people. Here in the UK our Royal family owns a lot of land. How can that be right in 2010?

Please answer the question I asked and you ignored.

Does the INDIVIDUAL matter? Does what a single person wants/thinks/desires/conributes matter?

What a JOKE.

Lets all be real. A "capitalist" economy is the best thing we have in this world - FOR PEOPLE THAT DESERVE IT.

Its like this.

If your skills are needed, you are rewarded.
If your skills are not needed, you are not rewarded.

Why would I want to help pay for someone to live who does NOTHING for me?

Hate to break it to some of you, but there are plenty of smart middle class/lower class kids, who work their *** off through out high school, have a job, go to a prestigious college, work another 10 years, just to be able to live in a good amount of wealth.

You want these same people, who bust balls for 15 years straight, and then continue doing so for the rest of their life, to be rewarded ONLY 3 times as much as some burger flipper?

Yes there are those who live in wealth based off of corrupt systems of the past (monarchy).

Yes there are those who are born into wealth, but guess what? That is the parents choice to give them the money. Life isn't fair, but if you have the skills, you can become rich too.

These "rich kids" some of you speak of are only living at the expense of their parents, but more than likely someone in the line had a genius idea, so all is fair.

The only thing I can ask for is better schooling for everyone. In America, any child who goes to a school that is not on the bottom of the list has the materials needed to strike it big. If they use it or not, their problem.

I am still in school, and washing dishes for my job. I would NEVER, AND I SAY NEVER, expect for some of the genius, and hard working people in this world *only* to make 3 times as much as me. Some of us have to start at the bottom, but with determination and hard work, the top is open for you.
