Having veterans in my family, this news is upsetting. Here we have an example of an extremist leftist who probably soaks up all the anti U.S. government propaganda they hear or read about, and by allowing this filth to infiltrate his feeble mind, he mustered the nerve to go out and murder innocent men. It is an absolute tragedy that people don't seem to respect the law and take matters into their own hands because they fail to control emotional impulses. If everyone did this we would be going back to a stone-age society.

I may be wrong in my anger (I probably am) but college recruiters recruit for higher education. Military recruiters recruit for hired murders who carry out the aims of a government controlled by the rich and powerful. Just pointing that out. No one gives a gun to college kids and says "Go murder brown people... they're "terrorists" for wanting to live and control their own lives"

You know why I joined? For higher education, and I'm sure that a vast majority of my fellow service men/woman have too. Did you know that most branches are not letting you advance to the next higher paygrade without a degree of some sort? Ya, I know it's a surprise to most people. They think we advance on how many people we kill.

And for the record, no one has given me, or no one I know personally, a gun, and told me to kill based on the color of one's skin.

Okay, I'm wrong and I came off as angry. I still say [snip]military recruiters but here's why I say that.

The cost of higher education in this country has increased exponentially since the 60s and 70s to the point where the majority of Americans will never have access too it without other means. The only real realistic way is to engage in indentured service to the government by joining the military which is what a lot do. Before the coked out retard took office in '01 I was indifferent to the military thinking they served their purpose and deserved our respect and attention. However, ever since this country has gotten itself into a modern [snip] crusade that shows no signs of ever ending, I say [snip] the military and [snip] recruiters and [snip]our [snip] system that extorts our youth into military service in order to access higher education and get a better life. Therefore on the most minimal level the recruiters are an extension of this system and that's why I don't give [snip] whether they live or die.

I got nothing personal against anyone who joins the military, every does what they have too to get by. But I do have something against the system and the recruiters who enable this madness.

Getting rid of the guns is NOT the answer. I am not all for the NRA
I live in Canada and years ago the Govt put in a gun registry, which for some reason scared a lot of people into thinking they cant have a gun or rifle. When it did come into law, many farmers, good people decided to discard them, rather than keep them. Many didnt have a choice, since they were not allowed to keep all of the guns that they had bought over the years. My dad had a winchester 30/30. and sadly gave it up,(to me it was a collectors piece and a very wel built rifle) and took apart his shotgun
and burnt some parts but kept the barrel.
So what has this accomplished? Well in larger urban areas we are seeing more hand guns being used for drive bys and gang related killings. In the city close to where i live, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of knives as weapon of choice. So the people that want to defend their farm. hunt or kill on their farm, feel like they are being punished and most have no way to defend themselves.
With what i see is happening and my beliefs, We need to take up arms, not just to protect ourselves, but to not have to rely on our govts to protect us for the coming future. Maybe it is the govt that we need to protect ourselves from. IE martial law.

So as sad as this is, and from what one post said: It is not all that we think it is until we get the facts.
But it does start conversations that NEED to be started. We need to start openly talk about why someone would shoot a recruiter. We need to start talking openly about why we have border guards having weapons, but not allowed to use them without retribution against them. We need to start talking about why the US govt is trying to recruit soo heavily now, what do they have planned in the next year or two that they need to increase their military. We already know from the past and our own convictions that if any outside force should enter our borders: CANADA< USA AND MEXICO. that we will be the first to bear arms and defend out countries. But please dont ask us to sign up for 3 years and no know what plans are already in the works.

What would you prefer? Having them recruit and give a person the choice on what they want in life, OR having a mandatory recruitment like many other countries have. Once you turn 18 you must serve for 2 years, and EVERYONE goes thru basic training.

So....You say:

It's ok to murder a recruiter, because he is a recruiter.

But you also say that it is wrong for the military to kill someone based on their skin color (which is incorrect anyway).

...I'm confused?

I give up and will not argue this point with you anymore. Besides, no one deserves to die because they are who they are.

Not trying to be difficult here, but can you translate that statement into a simpler form so I can understand your point? Thanks.

The implication in that thread was that senseless violence was a tool limited to RIGHT WING ZEALOTS ONLY.This incident should put that argument to rest. End of story.

Yes because for 1000 of years man came up with unarmed combat systems...it is our nature to be violent.

Oh, I see what you are saying. Thanks for clearing that up! To think that some people assume violence or whatever is destined to be either right wing or left wing is absurd.

Where the idiot pro-lifers in this thread? That was spot on whoever made the comparison between this story and the Tiller story.

[edit on 1-6-2009 by CuriousSkeptic]

Oh man, you completely missed the point of what he said.

I believe the comparison was because of the demonization of the pro-lifer and portraying them as a right wing gun nut because one shot an abortion doctor, yet here we have someone who is probably not a republican shooting at a military recruiter station. (Atleast how I interpretted it, I could be wrong)

As far as your little 12 year old boy rant is concerned....wow.

DIS CONTORY KILL MY FRIEND CUZ THEY CHOOSE TO JOIN # THE MILATARY DURRR!!1one!!

Also I have $20 on the gunman being a Muslim radical that converted in prison.

I'm in Arkansas too and familiar with the reservoir road area and it's escalating violence and criminal activity. However, it's seems in this instance the shooting is not gang related.

It's a clear act of terrorism...wonder if this guy gets sent to gitmo?

Arkansas is one the most poorly funded states in the Union.

I've lived here for five years, and there are a lot of folks who - for one reason or another - never developed critical thinking skills.

Many of these folks are good people - but HIGHLY reactionary. They're very quick to assemble, very passionate about their privacy, territoy, families, etc....and not afraid to fight to the death to preserve their American and God Given Liberties.

(one hell of a militia state, let me tell ya - valuable asset in that regard - these folks are damned decent)

But the problem arises when too much "propaganda" and sensationalist information floods into their lives.

They feel the call to defend not only their own liberties, but also the rights and liberties of all Americans.

When too much media goes in a direction most of us take for granted - pushing the proverbial patriotic buttons - some of these folks get so overwhelmed to stop things before it gets any worse and - quite literally- take drastic, immediate action.

Now combine that mentality and throw some of this whole "end of the world NWO socialistic anti-Obama sentiment into the mix) and you have a few good people who simply snap under the pressure of trying to do what they've been raised to believe is right.

These folks are good folks - but they need more time kicking back with friends and family, worthy and worthwhile pursuits and distractions - and not be be tinkered with as toys by what has become a very irrational, lazy, stupid and unaware "elite".

*signing off*

And you are a winner, the man is indeed a convert to Islam. He is currently facing 16 counts of terrorism it looks like.

Minutes after the shooting, Little Rock Police arrested Abdul Hakim Muhajeed Muhammed, formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe. He faces a murder charge and 16 counts of terroristic acts.

So the recruiters are "mother#ers", huh?

Well, they are also Soldiers and I do have a bit of a problem with them being addressed that way, so how about un#ing your statement? You are showing your ass with your post.

Back to the thread.

Now, this is about some dirtbag that converted to Islam (the religion of peace) and decided to shoot up a recruiting station. The kid killed was doing that hometown recruiting after finishing bootcamp.

Hmmm, I wonder if this will be dealt with as a "hate crime"?

Such a sad story. My God, why in the world would any sane person kill these men? There a many "nuts" in this old world we live in! If he is truly insane disreguard that statement. Could be someone back from their 100th tour in Iraq that has not been given medical care. You never know. Most people who do these crimes are just Pure Evil in my eyes.

Well first of all, the greatest number of Tours anyone has been involved with in Theater are 5 or 6 (I understand your exaggerative point), which although absurd in nature, cannot be helped without anything short of a reinstated draft.

Second, it often makes me wonder about the level of tenacity left within this nation. During World War Two for instance, many Service personnel were in Theater for a constant Two + Years, all the while they never saw Home or took Leave until the End of the War. (Everyday I begin to think ever more so that they were in fact our "Greatest Generation").

Third, this guy was not MIL, he is nothing more than an ignorant Muslim extremist with a grudge against America. He is only stating that he "Suddenly" decided to shoot, because in doing so, he might avoid any Death Penalty sentence which typically emanates from Pre-Meditation.

I would state that this shooter should rot away in Guantanamo Bay, but I honestly feel that such a punishment would be far too kind a gift to hand this piece of gutter trash. He should never see the inside of a cell, nor be granted Freedom. Use your imagination if you will, but the only fitting punishment is a result of the aforementioned equation.

I completely agree with you, there does exist Pure Evil in this world, and aside from the Fanatics whom we are currently fighting overseas, this individual represents the more frightening domestic aspect of such.

Wow, you sound about Four Decades too late in your ignorant rants. We honestly do not need individuals like you within this Nation. You are actually quite close to the border, so why not take the leap North? Let me know of your plans so I may forewarn my Canadian friends.

As for this incident, it proves nothing but the existence of Extremist minded Muslim fanatics living all around us, and within our very Nation. If anything, it should be resounding proof of how horrible everything would currently in fact be without a MIL to protect us.
