I never said it was JUST a laptop. There were definitely more tools involved (I don't happen to remember though as I was 15 when I read this)

Though I will admit I probably made it sound easier than it is. Let me re-phrase that, "It would be easy to do... if you were an experienced hacker"

Having also done volunteer work for a local TV station, I know the kind of equipment they use for live events, which is essentially what I'd be talking about. All the equipment for live shows essentially was all in a van (a moving vehicle). I'm sure an experienced hacker with the equipment could replicate it or get a hold of it, and simply make sure that he knows how to interrupt and decrypt the sat signal.

I don't know it could just be the Russians, making fun of us or rubbing salt in the wound to say... but I doubt it. The Russians have a long history, much longer than ours, they've seen bad governments come and go. Maybe we should stop being enemies with them and listen to them more? We might learn something.
I'm afraid though... I mean can the Russians be trusted, are they not controlled by the same powers we are? What's different about them, it almost seems hypocritical to criticize our government when theirs is still sort of run by an ex KGB agent.
Aside from that... the article is spot on, we don't have much time left, America is falling apart, the economy may be in a rally for now, but I'm afraid it's hinting at Hyperinflation.

Even if you have the radio equipment to broadcast such a signal and did manage to break in the network, they could cut you off almost instantly.

Come on sarge, I'm sure you've been here long enough to know what kind of reaction you'd get from HunkaHunka. He's the democratic party's pet mascot and teacher's pet all rolled into one.
So of course he'd say something completely asinine and uninformed. I myself have stopped trying to take him seriously as he really almost seems too much like a cartoon parody of what is thought of when you think of the extreme left. The sad part, is that it's not a parody confined to just a political cartoon.

Still, I'll just try and tell myself "It's ok, at least I don't have to live with myself the way he does." It must be really sad, living without any respect or reverence for this country and the people that helped shape it. I think that's one of the biggest flaws that we have with a lot of our youth. Oh well.

Common American Phobic viewpoint. However, might I ask if you even READ the article before your knee jerk reaction?

Yes I read the article. I also have been reading the anti-American venom it has been spewing for years.

Pravda has never been right in any of their "editorials".

So why should we start believing them now? Because Obama is President?

Where were all of these "tea baggers" when Bush was in office?

You want your country to fail? Go ahead and and clamor for it... I'm going to continue living my life...

Oh, and btw... there is *nothing* about my view that is TYPICAL. You will find very few people who see things the way I do.

It's a shame we have to get the real news from Russian media. Soon no more term limits, no more dissent, no more U.S.A. Obama will reduce us to Chavez, Castro type dictatorships with a red star, mostly in the name of saving earth from evil mankind. And the libs will love it while the earth actually cools. Bill Ayre and thousands of college professors must be so content now.

Again, I'm sorry I made it sound easier than it really was. I'm sure it could be done. I'm not sure, I'm no hacker by any means. I don't know what exactly they do or what they use. I'm just relaying what I remember from an article back when I was 15 years old. Back when Windows 3.11 and 95 reigned supreme lol!
God I feel so old! Maybe it was easier then, maybe they fixed what went wrong etc. I don't know. That being said, nothing is necessarily full proof either.

"Out of every hundred men, ten shouldn't be here
Eighty are just targets,
Nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them,
for they make the battle.
Ah, but the one.
One is a warrior,
And he will bring the others back."

Heraclitus, 500 B.C.

You can't have a man like Heraclitus once in 2.000 years.
And if he were around, he'd probably be somewhere in tent city...

Anyway, you guys can't have tea-parties any more. You're quarantined.
There's a swine fly lurking.
You must sit at home and let WHO do its job...

Everything will be OK.

We were RIGHT HERE:

America's Coming "Night of the Long Knives"

Rise of the Evil Empire

You are so indoctrinated you cannot see the forest due to the trees. Then you do sound a bit wet behind the ears as of yet. Too bad you will not be able to gain a little more experience for your row boat ‘id’ to go with your battleship prose.

i agree to disagree. great post, but even with my minus 1000 lol which the ats has put upon me i ask you too hear my words. the average person is holding down 3 jobs, and is totally exhausted. just wait for all of obamas hr to hit home in 2010 and 2011 and i bet you will be seeing a whole different atmosphere here in the states. as most people react according to actions. what i mean by this is the american citizen has not a clue what kind of hell will be unleashed upon his family until these asanine house resolutions are put to law which is in 2010 2011. so get ready for some fireworks as it will happen as these laws are put into place. right now it is the same old same old, but when these laws are to be put in place, you will see things change greatly. if i am wrong good for russia, but as they let thousands die in there jail cells without a trial, i really dont give that much credit to a sentence thirty years later and millions of deaths.

GM and automakers failed due to competition, overproduction, and playing games with the company. They were bailed out for one reason alone: pride. GM will be back it just takes legal BS to do what they need to do.... There's gonna be no financial armegeddon. Inflation will rise and fall, people will work and get laid off, some will win, some will lose just as it has always been in the US. There will be rich there will be poor just as there has always been in every society; at least in this one you have a chance to get rich yourself somehow. The US still rules innovation, research, and information technology. This isn't changing. Russia and china don't even have decent roads, airports or electrical infrastructure...

How ironic that PRAVDA is writing about the death of capitalism in america and her swift transformation into a socialist state. PRAVDA of course means truth. I grew up in USSR and i read pravda at the time there. Whats funny is that cnn fox msnbc all the major news papers in usa now sound just like pravda did during communism in russia. Same retoric state propaganda. Another funny thing is in russia right now they write and talk about the NWO and Iluminaty bankers and what they did to russia in the main steam news and talk shows its not considered alternative topics. Europe is like that too. Here in good ole usa we are considered conspiracy theorists and nut jobs. Thats the difference between usa and the rest of the world. Of course rest of the world has had a long history and people outside of united states are more clever i guess is the word. Less sheeple more people.

To anyone who experienced socialism it was so obvious from the moment the bailout was announced and those hard core capitalists all jumped into the lap of the state.

Very simple.

You seem to have taken a rather large drink of the Kool-Aid; I suggest you acquire some method for a quick exit as you obviously will not be capable of handling reality when your fantasy world folds.

I keep hearing this from the "wait and see" crowd. Explain this to me: When I was at the local bank this morning, turning soon to be worthless "EE" bonds FAR from maturity into cash....

WHY was I far from alone in my sentiment? There were 2 others doing the same, and the teller told me that made 8 people already today... All this before noon, but "strangely" after the "chosen one's" press conference announcing yet another merger between corporation and state...

Not going to be a financial armegeddon?

Keep your cash on you. Wait and see.

Your post is a bunch of crap. Just because you have nothing in your pants. Well, that's not the way it is.

With all due respect, the OP is one of those little frightened kids that got their gym shorts pulled down in junior high school.

Obama is "tough"? God bless him, you should have have met my old man.

Actually in my opinion it probably would have been easier 15 years ago... Again however even if you have a lot of financial resources behind I'm still going to say this would be near impossible. Even if you managed to hack into a Televisions station's network, as soon as you began broadcasting anything they would cut you off pretty quick.

Do you always lend such strong intellectual debate and thought in other areas of your life too?

You mean my federal reserve notes that are worthless?
So you guys don't get as much money that you didn't earn than you would have. Whoopee.. guess you can't get that harley after all this year. That is a far cry from comparing us to third world nations that can't even eat properly. You all should be ashamed of yourself and count your damned blessings.
