Remember a week ago when the mid west was hit with that blast of heat? It was out of the BLUE like 97 degrees here...for a mere week

then... as if I went on vacation to Cancun for a week and came back - poof back to the low-mid 70s

Each yr I also noticed it rained on the 4rth of July....as anyone been paying attention to that?

The last four yrs Ive been paying attention tot he 4rth of July holidays and it has rained EACH yr here in the Chicago...

Might be a coincidence, but I assured a colleague that it would rain today and low and behold it did...

Yeah it definently does. I lived in Darwin, tropical north australia up until a month and a half ago, doing this job, and pulse storms were common during the wet season (our summer). We also had to have light winds, and no wind shear aloft for this to persist

Why our low humidity here in the Southeast... I'm assuming(as I am not a meteorologist) that we usually get our humidity from the Gulf of Mexico. Why is our humdity being depleted? If you know, it would make me look smart next time I talk to folks around here if I had the answer.

For the most part I would say yes. But it depends on the direction of the winds. Im quite sure that a lot of humidity would come in through the subtropical jetstream too, but most of it would be off the ocean.

No you are not the only one. I notice too. I live in Middle Tennessee and we used to get a half a dozen or so good snows each year. We have not had a good snow in several years now. I miss the snow, I love my summer but if I have to be cold please let me see some snow... But no we do not get them anymore.
Also this year it has rained like crazy and we have been getting some of our rain and wind from the east which is very rare hear, normaly we get our weather from the west or maybe some from the southwest but not from the east??? And the sun seems hotter than usual, I burn faster now than I used too and so does other people I have been talking to so I know it just isn't me. The weather has made gardening very difficult this year too.

The sun I have noticed to is brighter than usual.

I get sunburned if I stay in the sun more than 30 minutes... which is unusual for me due to all the past summers of grilling my skin.

I read on this very board that a photographer has gotten to a point where he can take pictures without a flash because the light is so "good" this year. I think UV is up, and have heard warnings on the local tele that I should not go outside without some sunscreen.

I haven't noticed the east weather pattern, but some in the area I have talked to have. I guess I wasn't paying attention, as your statement has confirmed it for me.

The rain seems normal.. something happening every year is good, in my eyes.

The temperature change... I don't know.. is that normal for where you live?

But why is it so dry?

Could it be the solar minimum? not enough heat to generate the humidity necessary to bring it up into our area?

any thoughts?

I could look into it. Might take me a while though

Where exactly are you located?

Yes, the sun is a "little" brighter and hotter these days. I have noticed that ya'll are a little warmer with many storms this year as well. I hope you are staying dry and comfortable, to be sure!

I have definitely noticed a brighter, whiter sun. And too, have been burning quicker in this sun. Lastly, the east wind troubles me, as it is not normal. I seem to remember something was supposed to come from the east...

I have read through most of these posts and IMHO the weather has been changing for the past ten years.
Now, the question is....Do I believe that it is end times? No, for if you think some superior being gave us life and the freedom to chose, then gets pissed, when we exercise that freedom, and bestows the wrath of god upon us......well it just seems so silly, like human silly.

The bible is a very interesting and kind of surreal read. I meen, you get so many different mixes......love thy neighbor, stone them if they screw up. Thou shall not commit murder, but kill in his name when those who don't believe as you.

I think that it is time for mankind to grow up....quit taking this old tale so seriously. After all, more people have been killed in the name of religion than in all of the natural disaters combined. My God is an all loving god, with no jealousies or wrath within him/her/it/I don't know what to use, after all god is everywhere, so god can't be human. I think? But if god is a he or a she, then what does that meen?

Let's just take a break from the old school of thought and revisit this as if we were there with our knowledge of today. Look at all these topics thoughout the old and new testiments through your eyes and see if you can come up with any other conclusions. I do believe that he gave us that freedom for a reason.

Didn't mean to push any buttons here. End times doesn't mean much if time happens to be subjective anyway. But that is certainly a topic for other threads. Bible, eh. Yeah, it is in there as well as other places. The whole "end times" thing is a bit apocalyptic to be sure. But, here right in front of us we see "signs" on a daily basis in our empirical experience and in the news. I am right at the age (in this time) that I remember things entirely different than they are now. Not too old to have forgotten and not young enough to not have known different. So here we are! Let us continue a discussion about the strange weather and the possible connection to an "end" time. If you have noticed strange things over the last 10 years / 10 months / whatever, I would love to hear about it!

Thanks!
