This is really making me mad ...

Ebay has banned the sale of the e-cigarette.The e-Cigarette, also know as an electronic cigarette, or e-cig, is a new type of smoking device that is becoming more and more popular by the day. E-cigarettes are an effective method to enjoy nicotine/and smoking without the harmful toxins and chemicals associated with traditional cigarettes. Because this e cigarette isn't really a cigarette... one would expect that the usual "smoking rules" just dont apply here. But... Ebay claims it violates their alcohol and tobacco policy.

Even a noted Professor Michael Siegel, Professor in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department, Boston University School of Public Health has stated that

Opposition to the electronic cigarette is based on a blind ideology and ignores basic scientific truths

Grr... I don't see how it falls under a tobacco policy when it obviously has no tobacco in it... I've had my ecig for about 3 months now, and do not want to give it up. I have not bought any from ebay, but it's a shame that anyone is trying to limit the amount of places that you can easily get them from, considering how deadly real cigs are. I would much rather feed my addiction with pg + nicotine + flavor then over 4000 chemicals. My favorite supplier has not been getting shipments for a while now, I've had to look elsewhere, and its really starting to get annoying...

There are still lots and lots of e-cigs on ebay. I think this is a loosing battle for ebay and any other entity that wishes to support the tobacco business by trying to stop e-cigs.
In the end people will find alternatives to get them and as we speak people are releasing ways to make them your self.
You can rest assured that big tobacco will be looking for a bail out.

Anyone actually tried these things ? I've been looking at them on the web, would like to try them out but trust no one.

PS If anyone says that their aunties cousins friends bosses wife tried them, I will curse with a plague of cookie crabs.

I've had mine for about 3 months as I said and I really think it was one of the best purchases I've ever made. I will say its not exactly the same, but vaping is close enough to smoking that for me it wasn't hard to switch. I even find myself barely using it anymore, whereas if I had a pack of cigarettes I would almost chain smoke them. 10+ year smoker by the way...

Just make sure you shop around, take your time choosing... You can find kits for as low as $50(usd). When I first started to look into them, most of what I looked at was selling for $100+ which I considered a little too much to spend on something I wasn't even sure I would like/use. I waited about a month while researching before I finally decided what I would order/where to get it from. There are lots of good sources of information around..

I just know its nice to be able to smell things again, not smelling like an ashtray anymore. No ashes and butts to deal with. It's lovely to be able to taste again as well. My only problem is that I set the damn thing down all the time and forget where I put it.

Thanks for the info much appreciated.

On the subject of cigarettes -
Today I was at a supermarket and joined the Q to buy some, there are 2 cash registers 1 for lotto and 1 for tobacco.

A very old lady was in front of me and bought what appeared to be a years supply of her brand. I jokingly asked were they really all for her? To which she replied "Well I'm much too old to worry about it now".

Being the kind of flippant person that I am, I responded loudly enough for everyone to hear, I responded while smiling at the cashier "Well that makes me feel a lot better about my future and far less guilty, hit me with some cigarettes lady. If 80 year old women are right about ridding warts by rubbing bacon on it, then thy can't be far wrong about chain smoking " .

Needless to say I had some very condescending looks from the thumb sucking pinhead, would be millionaires in the lotto que , LOL

Perhaps if the old lady had been constantly made aware of the negative effects of her habit, she may well have died years ago.

The power of suggestion eh ?

I love my e-cigarette! These things WILL get you to stop smoking, but they WILL NOT get you to stop using nicotine.

They FDA won't allow you to say it will help you quit smoking, so nobody who sells e-cigs can make that claim. Luckily I don't sell e-cigs, so I can make it: E-Cigarettes WILL help you quit smoking

Since I got mine, I have cut back from 1-2 packs a day to just 3-4 cigarettes a day. Some days I go without any cigarettes, and as soon as I get my refillable carts and e-juice in, I'll be cutting those 3-4 cigs a day down to 0.

No piercing chest pains in the morning. No bad smell. No bad breath. No gunk clogging my mouth and throat. These things are amazing!

I loved smoking, just hated all the side effects etc. ... so what I do is smoke the eCig at work (in meetings, at my desk) and at home, and then on weekends or when I socialise I buy a pack of normal smokes and alternate between them and the eCig.

Basically cut down 90% of my habit which for me is a great trade-off.

The Tobacco companies and governments will lose revenue through eCigs ... they will seek to ban the things that are actuall better for you in the long run.
A healthy (mind and body) population is not as dependent on the government (health, hospitals) and cannot be controlled as easily.
