Here is a bit of information about an on going project in Australia. Most of you would have heard of Jindalee, the Joint Operational Radar Network (JORN), but have you heard of its little brother?

This looks like a better method than the navy's low frequency sonar radar that seemed to interfere with the natural sonar of the dolphins and whales. Possibly to the extent of them beaching themselves.

I've been here too long (ATS). When it seems too good to be true, it usually is!

I assisted with the 2nd run of trials on the system some years back.

easy to use, could be made into a semi mobile system if required, very accurate with an impressive surface detection range.

It is good to see something Australia developed actually being used.
