Well seems things are starting to shake up a bit.. Pardon the pun.

Poland has just had a 4.5 according to readings which is a pretty rare place for a quake,

It struck about 20 mins ago so will be interesting to keep an eye on, It struck near Legnica in Poland,

Since 'northern' europe has no tectonic boundaries or any major fault lines (that i know of anyway), major earthquakes are virtually non existent here.

A mag 4.7 and a spate of recent earthquakes in Poland definately raises some questions. If you look at this website you can see that earthquakes around Italy, Greece and Turkey are a very common daily occurance since these countries sit on known fault lines.

Perhaps the odd earthquake that occurs around countries like Poland, France and the UK are just 'knock-on' effects of ground movement under the mediterranean countries?

Always worth keeping an eye on though. Especially since both earthquake and volcanic activity seems to be on the increase on a global scale of late.
