North Korea appears to be preparing to test an advanced missile designed to reach the United States
The South Korean government has informed Japan's Coast Guard that North Korea has set up a "no navigation zone" in the Yellow Sea for June 13-June 14 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. (2300 GMT-1000 GMT), Japan Coast Guard spokesman Masahiro Ichijo said, without giving reasons for the warning.
The move follows reports that the North has stepped up military drills in the area after threatening a military strike on the South and is preparing to test-fire a long-range missile.

North Korea appears to be preparing to test an advanced missile designed to reach the United States
That part in the US article I would define as misleading.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea prepared to test-fire missiles at launch pads on both of its coasts, reports and experts said Tuesday, as South Korea beefed up its naval defenses.
North Korea may soon launch three or four mid-range missiles, believed to be modified versions of its Rodong series, from its east coast, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported
Fearing skirmishes off its coast, South Korea, whose troops are already on high alert, sent a high-speed ship equipped with guided missiles to its western waters, where the North was reportedly staging amphibious assault training.
The ship is ready to "frustrate North Korea's naval provocation intentions and destroy the enemy at the scene in case of provocations," the navy said in a statement. South Korea is also sending coast guard ships to escort fishing boats near the western sea island of Yeonpyeong.
North Korea's ailing leader Kim Jong-Il -- believed to be gearing up for another barrage of missile tests -- has named his youngest son as the eventual heir to the family dynasty, reports said on Tuesday.

The US article states missile designed to reach the US.Its BS as there is no evidence that NK has missiles that are yet capable of that range.
In this reuters article it is saying of a mid range launch.

North Korea, which is preparing to launch what it calls a “peaceful” satellite, may have developed a missile with the range to reach Hawaii, said Admiral Michael Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. “In some cases, yes, they could probably get down to Hawaii,” Mullen said on CNN’s Situation Room program yesterday, when asked if North Korea has the ability to strike Hawaii or Alaska. The West Coast of the U.S. mainland is still out of the nation’s range, he said.

My theory, is NK, is not going to be testing their ICBM's any longer, when they stage them for launch they are going to be hot.

Just a theory, but does not make sense to test missile after missile all in the while you are being told not too. I have a feeling they have what they need, gonna set their ICBM's up and when threatened launch them.. Or at least try to make it look as if that is what they will do..
SEOUL (AFP) – The United States has agreed to sell "bunker-buster" bombs to South Korea that are capable of destroying underground facilities in North Korea, a military official said Tuesday.
Washington recently approved the sale of GBU-28 bombs, which were used during the 1990-91 Gulf War to destroy underground command centres in Iraq, a defence ministry official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
The deputy commander of U.S. forces in South Korea said yesterday that the U.S. Air Force stationed in the South is fully ready to suppress and defeat North Korean aggression. Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Remington said this in an exclusive interview with The Dong-A Ilbo at his office in Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. “The Korea-U.S. Combined Air Force is so strong that it can tackle any threat, not to mention aggression by the North Korean air force,” he said.
This leads Zhu to a pretty significant, and I'd argue newsworthy, conclusion about China's role in all this. China, he said, had always believed that North Korea's nuclear program was negotiable. That Pyongyang might be willing to give up its nukes as long as its economic and security interests could be met. Now, Zhu writes, all the evidence "points in the opposite direction. In fact, the recent nuclear test by the DPRK is not just a slap in the face of China, but a sobering wake-up call for the Chinese leadership to face up to the malignant nature of their North Korean counterparts."
SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has signalled the anointment of his youngest son as heir to the ruling family dynasty, South Korean media said on Tuesday as the rival Koreas built up their forces along a disputed sea border.
UNITED NATIONS (AP) - North Korea's allies China and Russia raised questions Tuesday about some possible new sanctions against North Korea for its recent nuclear test, delaying Security Council action sought by key Western powers, U.N. diplomats said. But, getting a resolution out quickly is less important than getting one that has teeth, they said.
North Korea has begun preparations to fire three or four medium-range missiles, the South Korean military reported to the National Assembly's National Defense Committee on Tuesday. Defense Committee members quoted military officers as saying this when they visited the command post of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. They said the North is preparing to fire medium-range missiles near Anbyon-gun, Gangwon Province. The South has detected several vehicle mobile launchers carrying missiles in the area and assumes that the North will fire more than three missiles.
Officers do not rule out that North Korea will launch an intercontinental ballistic missile from a launch pad in Dongchang-ri, North Pyongan Province on the west coast at the same time.
Remington noted that the communist North has the world's fourth largest military force and deploys a large force of special troops and artillery near the border.
