I'm a little confused. My profile says I've started 2 threads (maybe 3 after this?) and have 2 replies. I haven't started a single thread, and if I click on "threads" nothing shows up.

Haha what gives? Am I missing something?

Edit, now it says 4!

Just a glitch I reckon. You should close your browser and clear your cookies.

that should help
.

If you start a comments section in your profile, that counts as a 'thread'. Also, each time you submit a comment/suggestion, it creates a thread behind-the-scenes. Each time you alert a post counts as a thread, too.

I have the same..... it's really annoying.

It says i have started 157 threads??

I have started about 12.

I wish they would sort it out

You must alert a lot of posts.

I have a lot of complaints/suggestions

I don't see why it get's added to your thread count though?

maybe post count.... not thread?

Strange...

yeah it doesn't make sense to me. it completely skews thread count. And if you look at my profile now, one might think I start several threads that go nowhere!

I know.....it looks like you've had loads of threads closed or something.

Very annoying.

I think each suggestion/alert must create a thread in the staff forum, for them to look at. Amusingly, there's a suggestion there from me (from a few months ago) about exactly this issue, that they might want to not count those in the number shown on the profile. It's not a big deal, but it is confusing.

Yeah i guess so.

Anyway, as you say it's no biggie.... just slightly misleading and quite annoying.

Ah well.

Can this be rectified so your thread count is actually in line with how many threads you've started?

is it possible to change the figure in our profiles?

yeah exactly. I alerted a post today and that's what it said, something along the lined of it's being posted to the staff forum for review.

Thank you for clairifying this for me

LMAO! you forgot the "waves hand over face" part.

These must not be the threads I am looking for.

It happens for staff, too. For instance my thread count is listed as 173 but I only have 23 threads. There are some staff members with a discrepancy into the hundreds due to the work we have to do behind the scenes.

So it can be that or like previously mentioned, anytime you submit an alert, complaint, or suggestion, it ups your thread count.

Opening your profile for comments also counts as one thread.
