Ancient cultures importance placed on the soul after death

I'm curious to know if anyone has encountered similar thoughts on the following:

It seems that wherever there are remnants of ancient cultures, all over the globe; each culture shares at least one common trait. I am not sure if this has ever been considered or looked at seriously by anyone.

The common trait is that in death, the energy of the being (what we today call a soul) needs certain guidance in order to properly leave the trappings of earth. If they do not succeed in leaving, they are reborn. The cycle continues in perpetuity, unless the soul can successfully leave.

Cultures across the world have some sort of lore regarding the heavens above. Why do they seem to intertwine death and reaching the heavens?

They had incredible knowledge back then that is "supposedly" lost to us today; look at the Pyramids or Machu Pichu.

Ancient sects that still exist today such as the Masons; are said to have knowledge and rites as used by the ancient Egyptians and other cultures.
Indeed there is much symbolism with staircases leading to the heavens and properly navigating paths to reach the heavens.

When your body dies, apprently your energy (soul) still exists. When you burn a tree, it is simply mass converted to another state; ash. Why not too then; the energy that makes you, you?

If anyone has any insight into the process required to travel the stairway to the heavens, please share.

We humans are multidimensional. We have the physical body, wich serves as host for the soul. The 2nd body is the astral body (emotional body, body of desire) wich is in fact the link between us and the astral plane.
We have the mental body and finally, we have the vital body, wich keeps the physical body afloat.

When someone dies, all the bodies go back to their respective plane. The astral body (wich serves as the hard disk for memories of the soul) goes back to the astral plane, and has to wait a while before coming back. The infernal cycle of living and dying has been keeping humanity prisoner of the physical world. This cycle is due to the domination of the Astral plane over humans, and this domination was and still is necessary until humans discover the game being played.

Only awareness, followed by the rise of consciousness will liberate mankind from the domination that has been going on for thousands of years. When we discover the extent of the manipulation, it's because we have started the process of raising our level of consciousness, wich in part is due to information coming from our cosmic self (Higher mental plane).

*note: the answer i give here may seem occult to some readers. So, don't believe a word of it. It is from personnal experience.

The mind is, to my view, like sort of a radio, capting a certain frequency. In other words, we "think" we're the ones thinking, but we're not. The manipulation of the mind has and still is omnipresent. Let me explain this in further detail. Starting with the concept that we're multidimensional, thoughts originate as a form of light energy sent by the higher mental sphere down to the lower mental aspect we call the mind. But before it reaches its destination, it is colored (manipulated) by entities of the astral plane (dead people). The reason for this is to test us in our emotivity. Also, it's the only way entities of that sphere can feel a sense of vitality (feeling alive).

Earth is a shcool for the souls, and this aspect of the game is necessary in order to keep mankind under the domination of the astral world, until we discover the game being played on our mind (awareness). When the experience of the soul is sufficient, the connection to our "source" (higher mental) is activated. Then, slowly, with the rise of consciousness, we start telepathic communication with our source. With time, the manipulation is less present, until the day we reach total consciousness. When we reach that goal, we graduate from this school, and move on to other levels of evolution.
