Could a genetically modified bacteria convert human blood into a lethal acid? If so, what would be the easiest lethal acid to produce from blood?

In movies, it definitely is possible. It would probably become sulfuric acid, or something like that. Of course there is no reason it couldn't turn into gasoline or a banana-smoothie either.

There are some pretty gruesome bacteriae out there, so I can't say for sure it's "absolutely impossible" - but I do think so. See, bacteria can't just convert the plasma they're living in - in fact, (most?) bacteria are completely dependent of their environment, so if they'd convert it to acid, it would kill them.

Mmm.. this would really make a pretty gory movie

No, not bacteria.

Alcohol!

What a thread

You should change the title, it is slightly misleading. I was expecting to read about something thats changing blood into acid.

Phew......

You better stay away from science labs with ideas like this!!
