Victoria has reported 137 new cases over the weekend bringing that State’s total to 1011. Victorian health officials report they are focusing its treatment on members of the community most vulnerable to viral infections, such as the elderly, students at special development schools, hospital patients and people with a chronic illness.

Antma- Amazing- thank you- intrepid posting.

To add to your list, there are two deaths in Martinique of which I've read today.

Thank you so very much for your hard work in posting this, and for forcing us ALL to ask the most important question-

If these are ONLY reported numbers to WHO- how many, really, have been exposed, are infected, ared dying, or have died?

My suspiscion is that due to air travel, lack of testing, backlogged testing, etc., we should multiply these numbers by 100 or 1000-at least rates of infection, as we have no way of knowing how many deaths are occuring that are H1N1, but are attributed to other causes.

Star and flag!

It was either Reuters or CDC that said-

You could double the number of cases in the UK.

They are now assuming in Victoria/Australia that people with flu symptoms have H1N1. That's pretty aggressive, considering this is the start of their usual flu season as well.

Thanks! Star for you.

And I agree....There are many many more are not "officially" recorded by the WHO.

You'd think they'd at least offer a more realistic estimate....

Yup, they estimated at LEAST double the amount. There are several articles out here, here's one:

UK swine flu total could be over '1,000'
Telegraph.co.nz

Swine flu could have infected more than 1,000 people in Britain, double the official total an expert has warned.
As the Health Protection Agency announced 541 confirmed cases, Prof Hugh Pennington a bacteriologist at Aberdeen University, said many more will have gone unreported.
