I don't know what would be scarier.

Yellowstone or the Krakatoa?

The last one showed some activity recently too.

Both could destroy the world.

Let's hope we don't live to see that day.

My brother Dan used to work at Yellowstone National Park for 9 years. He's thinking of going back to work for them. It wouldn't be good if, with all the activity going on with seismic activity if the volcanic activity was about to set off a volcanic explosion. He wouldn't live through it.

Just found this article posted yesterday:

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) - A geologist at Yellowstone National Park was in the middle of a lecturing a group of colleagues on the rarity of hydrothermal explosions earlier this month when, all of a sudden, one went off just behind him. Geologist Hank Heasler was giving a lecture in the Biscuit Basin on May 17 when a hot pool behind him exploded. It spewed mud, rocks and hot water about 50 feet in the air. Geologists only know of only a handful of such unpredictable explosions in Yellowstone’s recorded history. Heasler and the others were just out of reach of the hot showering hot water and other debris.

www.ktvq.com...

Could this be due to the activity seen in that graph? And could this be a sign, along with the quakes, that an eruption could be in the not-to-distant future?

For 1+ earthquakes USA, that list them all. This link
I guess those were singular events....only guess.
FY..I use a MyYahoo application to stay aware of 2.5+ mag world wide. Otherwise I would be clueless, since so few get any media attention. It looks like this.

and links to USGS.
