The sun shines brightly
One more day in paradise
So glad to be home.

Like the moon across
still water, so your image
flickers through my mind

(This one I wrote for the special lady in my life for her 21st and nearly a decade on she still has it engraved on the back of her necklace)

call off your dark dogs
hunt for shadows when it's light
crickets sing me through

tear-stained face stunning
dog awareness haunted moon
unbelieved lost soul

Unrelenting heat
beckon forth dreams of cool rain
drench the earth, our souls

still cultivated

dog's day howling new
ghosts watch a waxing gibbous
tow their souls to sea

sinew-wrenching screams
dreams of things one should not know
Child stares, accusing

treetops spit and burn
Missing persons, missing lives
ooo say, can you seeee?

Blackhawk helo ops
watch the busy little ants
below their pay grade

Storm-petrels hover
for a moment, all is still
must be near the sea

can I hear children
in tomorrow a while now
from this too much sun

thin sky high below
grabbing fat bellowing space
a hand in our pot

dare to caress us
starlit then to stroke our skin
our breath escaping

Live for the moment
Clarity graces our dreams
Memories enchant

hear her hallowed hills
crowned in nightjars, jays and crows
claim, proclaim, allow

geese walk on moon trees
leaves in water calling fall
come back, come back small

San Luis moon dunes
ate the herd and Navajo
or was it the sky?

bell songs and dogs bark
bringing summer to her knees
crows gather early

these tiny voices
say a thousand dinosaurs
fly for Night's ivy

Submit to slumber
Passing through dream-lit shadows
Waking with the dawn

over autumn all
runs orange soft soaking grey
I cling to normal

A politician's speech
Does silence still speak volumes?
