In a flier distributed downtown there is some disturbing information given that shows the real motives behind this protest.


These wealthy businessmen (yes, almost all of them are white men) will put their greedy heads together to discuss "Innovation and policy ideas in technology, energy, environment and manufacturing" In other words, they will be strategizing[sic] on how to further increase their profits at the expense of the ever-shrinking middle class, the vast working class and the growing millions living in utter poverty.


I guess if it were a National African American Business Summit there would be no protest, and this organization would instead be looking for money in order to get people to attend a benevolent meeting of important black business owners.

National business leaders will converge on Detroit in mid-June for a unique goal-setting discussion on America's future.

The National Summit will be June 15-17 at Ford Field, where speakers such as William Clay Ford, chair of Ford Motor Co., and Andrew Liveris, CEO of Dow Chemical, will headline the event.

The goal, said chair Beth Chappell, CEO of the Detroit Economic Club, is to define the top priorities for policy action in four key areas for businesses in the U.S.:

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary F. Locke is expected to speak in June at the National Summit scheduled to be held in Detroit this summer, according to a news release today from the Detroit Economic Club.

The summit, scheduled for June 15-17, is intended as an opportunity to "discuss and advance a national economic agenda," the news release stated. The Marriott Renaissance Center is to house the event being sponsored by the Detroit Economic Club.
