Agreed, its hard to sift through the "crap" as such, and sadly when I was researching this I did not keep the links etc as I had finished what I was
looking after. (too much stuff on my computer  )
But I am sure you will find what your after, as believe it or not there was/used to be a plethora of information on the Moon and the lack there of in
certain periods of earths history.
But.....
now I am gonna spend all weekend looking for them again
