Neocon Group Calls for Military Strikes on Media
www.roguegovernment.com...

“Of course, the media have shaped the outcome of conflicts for centuries, from the European wars of religion through Vietnam. More recently, though, the media have determined the outcomes of conflicts. While journalists and editors ultimately failed to defeat the U.S. government in Iraq, video cameras and biased reporting guaranteed that Hezbollah would survive the 2006 war with Israel and, as of this writing, they appear to have saved Hamas from destruction in Gaza. …“Although it seems unthinkable now, future wars may require censorship, news blackouts, and, ultimately, military attacks on the partisan media. Perceiving themselves as superior beings, journalists have positioned themselves as protected-species combatants. But freedom of the press stops when its abuse kills our soldiers and strengthens our enemies. Such a view arouses disdain today, but a media establishment that has forgotten any sense of sober patriotism may find that it has become tomorrow’s conventional wisdom.

The most troubling aspect of international security for the United States is not the killing power of our immediate enemies, which remains modest in historical terms, but our increasingly effete view of warfare.

Wow, just wow! Are we becoming like russia now?
Kill the newspapers AND the reporters that don't print the "correct" story?
The takeover seems almost like a sealed deal at this point.

A few facts on Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters here:

While maybe not quite as serious this is definately related!

The union representing Los Angeles police officers is pressuring the owner of San Diego’s main newspaper to change the paper’s editorial stance on labor issues or to fire its editorial writers.

How does Obamas' new inside press corp fit into all of this? I mean, granted the MSM is biased to the extreme but I guess that wasn't good enough? Now we have the White House creating its own press releases barring all 'outside' press agencies.

I propose a simple solution. Stop observing them (the blogs, newspapers, MSM, etc...) and they will die. I would suggest that we could move from denying ignorance to ignoring ignorance as a stance. Without viewers, where are the ad dollars going to come from? If enough of us "make the switch" and turn off the TV and paper then the ad dollars would follow. Those dollars would follow us here, for instance. Then, and only then, would we be able to "fight" them, on our turf.

Look, we could learn more from a good book and observing the plants outdoors than we can from any talking heads on the news.
