I saw a commercial (HULU Dennis Leary) were he tells us that T.V. is horrible for us but we keep on watching it on our electronic devices.

Then I began to wonder what would happen if someone stopped watching all the stuff that is being piped into our lives. Better yet, what if a person was born and then grew up without the comfort of PCs or TVs or other electronic devices.

Would someone who grew up without this stuff still think about a God like being? Would they still think about some type of religion?

If they were taught language and given scientific, fact-based books would they think of beings on other planets if it were never presented to them? How ould they function if they were submerged into a society like we live in now?

I wonder if their philosopical thoughts would be completely secular or if they would crave knowledge about outer-space?

I also wonder what would happen to the average person that has grown up with all this stuff if it was suddenly gone. How would we respond? Would we become more scientifically minded or more spiritually minded or would there be a common ground?

Just wondering if the same things would still be important as far as the ultimate goal. By ultimate goal I mean the exploration an conquering of the universe. I know that isn't everyones ultimate goal, but for the our race to survive the only way is to eventually colonize another planet.

It is said that our race will not last another 1,000 years if we do not get off this rock. Would someone who has little cultural understanding realize this?

Colonizing another planet, psssh, did you not just watch American Idol I mean OMGZ! He won, really really, really!

That's life outside of ATS.

Sad, very sad

Humanity has moved away from philosophy, wonderment, and science, to hope, faith and mundane.

The worst move in history, i've watched begin to unfold before me. My screams are but silent whispers. My Generation will be the one to inevitably watch everything silently fall apart, no big bang, no last breathe, just gone.... as if the tv went from fuzzy to fuzzier to eventually off, and your still watching it.

I've stopped watching tv, and am not sure what to watch now, except the occasional family guy, and south park

But my main focus has been and will always be Physics and Colonization of other planets, if it kills me, I will always learn more.

It takes one! Only one to make a difference.

We need to understand theres no ultimate being coming tomorrow to rescure us, that we need to do it now, or nothing of human existence exists!

Your seed is greater then you, yet you create your seed, why stop and create no more.

Humanity I feel may not need be here anymore, it seems just to futile and meaningless, people don't 'get it'. That just because you live and die, doesn't mean f*** everyone!

It seems like it is hard for more of the mass to understand. The education in general is getting worse, seemingly by design. I don't know if people are aware of it or just don't care.

It reminds me of the movie Idiocracy were people are dumbed down for hundreds of years until they are a race of idiots.

I have wondered lately if there is something that people go through as individuals, like a final step in growing into an adult. From what I can tell it seems to happen to people from around the time people turn 26-33 years old. It may occur earlier in some or later in others. Like an awakening.

I wonder if this happens to everyone. Where you realize what reality really is. You are tied up in the commercialism less and less and the reality of your being your existence hits you like a ton of bricks and evreything else seems so ridiculous.

Ridiculous in the way that you question how you could have been led along so long by the corporations and governments. Then you look around and begin to wonder which one of these people you come in contact with is also aware of what's really up.

Then you begin to realize that there is a very few people who are actually aware, but you also know that there are a growing number of people who think the same.

I wonder if some people ever have the opportunity to wake up to the real reality of the world or if they stay so busy raising children, working, watching TV, and being led along by the corporations commercialism and the government control tactics that they don't really wake up until most of their time is gone.

Hopefully we will see a type of intelligent revolution. Maybe that will happen and we can figure out the questions we really want answered without having to be fed the information by a controlling government.

Edit for grammar

I think that experiment was already done. look at where we are at today.

The answer to that is not that far away.

Yes very true, brilliant topic. Part of the reason why Disclosure may never happen. Our minds are clouded with television...

I know where we are at today is not where we would be if there was no type of control over the mass pop. by the corporations and government. Many of us have been spiritually retarded from where we would be if given the truth in every instance.

We were born here too and in most cases we finance all the things going on today. I wonder when and who decided that being born on this planet didn't give us the right to know what is happening in the world in which we exist.

In order for people to grow more intelligent, more spiritual, and even more physically sound we have to make a job of what we watch, who we listen to, and what we eat.

It shouldn't be that way. There should be an inherent responsibility of those who are in charge to look out for the best interest of the masses. Our mental physical and spiritual sense is being allowed to be clouded and exploited to make money and give power.

Today individuals must work incredibly hard to take care of these things if they are to do it properly. Many people were never given the knowledge of how to eat properly, how to calm your spirit, and how to intake proper information.

So true, even with the advent of nano-technology television is being developed in ways many would never have imagined.

A type of paint is being developed that contains nano-tach and when it dries it becomes active and a TV can be seen where ever the paint is. Also, implants are being made now that can be inserted into the back of the retina and project a TV into our line of site.

Maybe the choice for our children isn't government supported public education, but home-education. We have been so busy that we now don't have time to personally educate our children - without sometype of monetary loss.

Then if you choose to teach your children about the cosmos and what could be out there their peers are conditioned to treat them as outcasts.

What would it take to change? Some say one person creates change.

I understand that you could go see this, but I am not sure it is exactly what I am talking about. Even in some of these villages they are taght ther tribe's way - usually without the information that has been gained through scientific exploration.

I really mean; what would a person be like who had all the information available and wasn't subject to conditioned learning? With all the information that is available and accurate would someone who studied this still look to an almighty power and look for other worldly entites? If they never saw or heard of a UFO or aliens would it even cross there minds that there are other beings in our Universe? Maybe it would be the inevitable conclusion they would draw.

I think that experiment was already done. look at where we are at today.

It is seeming more and more like that is the case. I remember when I was young and in school. You would hear about how the government was changing the things that was in the textbooks for everyone to learn - trying to keep pace with the other countries.

Now it seems like the lower on the education scale we can go the better. I am waiting for the government to pick up a corporate sponsor.

With this type of control over the population we will probably never be told the truth about UFOs and E.T.s

I wonder what it would take to make a movement in the opposite direction? It reminds me of the video of the Tsunami a few years ago where the guy just stood on the beach and let the wave crush him.

Trying to make a movement would be like standing on the bech and trying to slow down that wave.

No matter how mundane the public educational system becomes or how 'enlightened' the private schools for the elite are in teaching our young, there will always be those individuals who 'won't accept the programming', right?

Have a little faith in people. You guys are here having this discussion, right? That gives me plenty of hope right there. People who think outside the box like you are more numerous than previously thought in all likelihood. To me, that's a good thing.

One's first instinct when they 'wake up' is to spread the word and/or hope that as many people see what you see and know. Over time however, (at least for me) I've realized that it's none of my business what other people think or believe in that regard. There needn't be an overwhelming abundance of like minded people to bring about the kind of change you are talking about.

This whole "humanity is doomed" and "humans are the cause of all that is wrong with the planet" meme is more regurgitation of what is being fed to people in movies, television and the internet. It's just not that black and white IMHO. The planet/universe created us, it could just as easily erase us and the universe would go on. We could be as wise, enlightened and benevolent as could be and then the Earth could get struck be a large asteroid (a scenario in which Bruce Willis and his crew failed) and we could be wiped out in a way not of our own doing. I think the experiment is far, far from being over just yet.

I agree with you and some of your points.

I know that what other people think is really none of my business. I don't think it should be the governments or private corporations business either.

One of the main questions I am wondering in this statement isn't what individuals are thinking, but do individuals experience a type of awakening in their life. Is it something that occurs naturally, or is it something that is learned and developed through curiosity.

Like when you see a buddy from when you were a kid and they seemed helpless. Then you see them again later in life and it seems like they have become more aware of what is going on in the world... like they have a better grasp of things than they ever seemed like they could.

Does this happen to everyone at some point in life? I am not just talking about growing up, becoming more mature, and accepting varying degrees of responsibility. I am talking about a change that, I am sure you have noticed at some point in someone, seems like they were re-programmed.

What's the movie where the people are all normal and these alien creatures come and infect them and they are completely different.

I am talking about a change like that, but for the good of their own existence. Is it a concious decision we make as individuals or is it a change that happens to us as we become a complete adult.

Akin to when you were a kid and adults seemed so much different, like they were never a kid. I have only started to notice this in myself in the past year or so. I know I can't be the only one experiencing this change... is there a name for it, or a common occurance that we aren't aware of as a group, but we are individually?

Sorry if it seems like I am rambling, just got through installing about 1,500sq. ft. of custom hardwood and I am exhausted
