Doctor saves boy's life with power drill

www.abc.net.au

A country doctor is being hailed as a life-saver after using a power drill to bore into a 12-year-old boy's skull.

Nicholas Rossi suffered bleeding to the brain and began drifting in and out of consciousness after falling from his bike near a friend's home in Maryborough, Victoria.

"Dr Carson told me all he can remember saying is, 'Get the Black and Decker'."

lol!

Amazing stuff! I wonder if it was a cordless drill?

I suppose it was a logical thing to do seeing as the doctor had no other suitable equipment.

Apparently this was a similar case to that of Liam Neeson's wife Natasha Richardson who suffered a head injury after a skiing accident.

Lucky kid eh? Nice one Doc.

Way to go Doctor, that's thinking on your feet.
In an emergency you use whatever you have at hand to save a life or render aid.
I've even used feminine hygiene products to stop bleeding because it was handy.

Thumbs up Doc for a job well done.
