This is along the same lines as calling used cars "pre-owned"
Or, calling illegal immigrants 'undocumented workers"

Terrorism is now called "man-caused disasters."
Give me a break!

The Obama administration, through a string of delicate shifts in terminology, has softened -- or at least obfuscated -- the essence of the war against Islamic extremism. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, arguably the Washington equivalent to Madonna of re-branding, delivered an entire set of testimony without using the word "terrorism." She says she prefers "man-caused disasters."

Why do they not refer to it as Religious Extremism? Not too many Atheist groups attempting to blow people up because they are religious. Unless that offends religious people because Terrorists are religious?

Hell refer to it as the specific branch of religion. Like Sheik Balaca led branch of the Sunni Muslim religion extremists. That way it is not so obscure and we have a certain group to blame and drop bombs on.

Don't worry. Washington has no problem making sure that gun advocates, constitutionalist, vets and prolife Americans are labled the old school terms. They will leave all the "re-branding" in the closet when it comes to American "Right Wing extremist". We'll still get our daily doses of terrorist accusations by our lovely government and their propaghanda media machine.

Here's two more for ya. They changed "torture" to "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques". Sounds so much better doesn't it? And how many times did they change the name of the war?
War on Iraq - Operation Iraq Liberation - Operation Iraq Freedom and so on.

The United States does not torture, so you got it backwards....Enhanced Interrogation Techniques came first....opponents of it declared it torture afterwards.

Also different phases of war are given different Operation Names.

You got both statements totally wrong. Sorry bud, but it's a jungle....err...rainforest out there!

Whichever administration is in power will change up the vocabulary to suit
their own needs and agenda. The administration that is "out" will do the
same to try and take some of the power away from the one that is in control.

And, all we can do is sit back and shake our heads in disbelief.
