Ten Houston men, including three brothers, were charged Monday in a conspiracy to ship 151 military-style weapons south of the border. It’s the region’s biggest arms-trafficking case since the Obama administration vowed to do more to stem the flow of U.S. guns to Mexican drug cartel soldiers.

Their mission here is largely to tear through a backlog of cases in which authorities are trying to determine how guns made their way from Houston to cartel crime scenes.

I'm sure that many would agree that this is of much greater importance than illegal immigration.
In fact, they just might be related.

Imagine a family living in the middle of daily crossfires.
Many here on ATS, perhaps very specific members, will hate illegal immigrant families sneaking into the U.S.

But what if the U.S. is the cause of them sneaking in here?
Next time you make a hate post on illegal immigrants you should think about this first.

Oh please! Dont try to blame illegal immigration on Americans. It was 151 guns. A good size gun shop in America probably sells that in a day, and you dont see everyone running around America having a big drug war. Lets put the blame where it belongs, into the hands of the illegal immigrants who break the law and cross our borders, steal our jobs, use our resources, etc....

I just see it as a way to crack down on our gun laws, which I'm not buying into, I want my guns. If the US citizens were supplying guns to Mexican drug lords, where is our border patrol to catch them? Right their catching the drugs coming in, wait, no they're not doing that either. Oh yeah, they're catching all the illegal immigrants, oh....no they're not doing that either.Well, perhaps they standing by offering mints and a helping hand.

So you are going to try to tell me that if drug lords couldnt get guns in the United States they wouldnt be able to buy them anywhere else in the world. Plus, what the hell does people buying guns have to do with illegal immigration. Is there no bottom to the barrel of excuses for illegal immigrants? Dont you think there are a whole lot worse places on earth than Mexico?

They are ILLEGAL. If they want to move here they are welcome. They just need to wait in line like the rest of the world. We cant afford to take care of them. They are a burden to the entire country, kinda like the
uncle that came over and slept on the couch and never left.

Furthermore, I dont care if we sell them 10 million guns a week. We are supposed to sell people stuff. That is what we do. It doesnt make illegal immigration any less illegal or any less of a problem just because we sold them guns.

No I think we should focus on the problem. We should line the border with weapons, round up all the illegal immigrants, toss their a..es back over the fence, and when they try to get back in, gun them down. It is called protecting your border.

You are still not focusing on the root of the problem
That's why you keep mentioning the symptoms which are illegal immigrants.

Let's say Pfizer is doing lab rat research. 12 rats escape the facility everyday, so people complain about rats. Nobody at all complains about Pfizer, all you hear has to do with rats everywhere. This is called Insanity!

Nobody tries to spread the message that personnel at this Pfizer lab aren't doing their job well, nobody spreads the message that these people need to be fired. All you hear is complaints about rats.

You seem to have some enmity towards illegal immigrants. You have no enmity towards the root of the problem. This is why nothing will ever be done, because there's too many like you.

Well please explain to me your idea of the root of the problem. My idea of the root of the problem is that their are people breaking the law by crossing our borders ILLEGALLY! If they didnt make a decision to cross the border ILLEGALLY then there wouldnt be a problem.

Who is using your money to subsidize a global empire?
Who is calling you a terroist for having concerns over illegal immigration?
Who wants to RFID you?

You've got to be kidding, or a "disinfo agent".

The United States State Department approves billions of dollars worth of military weapons to corrupt Mexican Army and Police every year! Many go straight to the cartels.

You compare an AR-15 to an M-16 or Kalashnikov?

The documented arms flow (grenades, artillery, and shoulder arms) is amazing, but ignored.

Oh I see. I agree our government should do more to end illegal immigration. I am all for protecting the borders. It cant be anymore expensive then giving a bunch of illegals free education and healthcare. So I agree with you on that point.

I have a better idea. Since most Mexicans apparently want to live in the USA, why dont we be a good neighbor and bring it to them. We could probably take over that whole country in a week and have a McDonalds and Starbucks on every street corner within 6 months.

Then in return for our kindness for educating part of their population and given them the free healthcare they stole, we can build a giant pipeline from their oil fields up to here and take some free oil for the next 10 or 20 years. It sounds like a win-win to me.

If you are trying to say ignoring illegal immigration is just one more way our government is screwing us over then I agree, but why try to make an excuse for illegals by implying its our fault because some Mexicans bought some guns in the US? I bet some Americans bought some guns in Mexico, so is it Mexico's fault that Tupac died?

If you actually think that this isn't another in a long line of 'Red herrings" from the socialist wing of our government, then its you that is the problem not the law abiding citizen who owns guns. The economics of gun running and the ability to purchase is NOT a problem from this country. I've said it before. An entire case of full-auto Kalashnikov battle rifles is about the same as ONE AR-15 semi-auto here in the states. The guns they have confiscated are going to be found to be from our own government, given to the Mexican forces and then rerouted to the cartels. If anything, those arrested in this case and others are clowns that tried to get into the drug business and wasn't smart enough to know how to buy from their own southern neighbors.

Why do you think the DHS says that if you are concerned about illegal immigrantion you are a potential terroist?

How can you speak of defending your borders when you aren't even defending your god-given rights?
