I hope that this is the right place if not please move it.

I can see this problem in most if not all countries where elections are held. Before the elections every candidate will be promising the people everything that is possible (and even some impossible things) But once they have won they go on and do just what the person before them was doing. and will often claim "I was handed this mess".

My questions are:
If the situation is in a mess why are they campaigning so that they can be "handed the mess"?

Is it not the party's or candidates responsibility to research what all he will be realistically able to provide and base his campaign on it?

Is there some way to hold the people elected to the promises they made before the election? If not why not?

Elections used to mean something, but now they are a joke. Just a ploy to keep the mass at bay.

No, the elected officials can't and won't keep the promises they make because they are not calling the shots once elected.

We elect puppets.

Yep democracy is such a stup1d way of government. Like william cooper said, it just leads to socialism. Plus democracy being mob, rule, the mob chooses who is the leader.

Demcracy = bullsh1t.

You have to wonder why america wants to spread democracy, lol.
