I hope that this is the right place if not please move it.
I can see this problem in most if not all countries where elections are held. Before the elections every candidate will be promising the people
everything that is possible (and even some impossible things) But once they have won they go on and do just what the person before them was doing. and
will often claim "I was handed this mess".
My questions are:
If the situation is in a mess why are they campaigning so that they can be "handed the mess"?
Is it not the party's or candidates responsibility to research what all he will be realistically able to provide and base his campaign on it?
Is there some way to hold the people elected to the promises they made before the election? If not why not?
