On the last picture with the moon, there appears to be something streaking either in front of or coming from behind the top of the moon. Just noticed this in the pic and thought I would point it out!

Nice pics but um.. that pic with the stars has stars in the foreground on top of the planet and shuttle etc.

Besides, I though it was impossible to see stars in photos from space unless extremely long exposure times were used.

I think... that that picture is taken while the shuttle is on the side of the Earth not facing the sun.
So, it's darker than most pictures of space would normally be, which is why there are stars in that pic.

Stunning photos.

but, as mentioned above, there are stars on the srtucture and earth...think that pic was tinkered with. Aside from that...those are some amazing shots. Thanks!

The pictures are truly amazing!!!

About the picture with the stars on the structure... I bet it was a long exposure. If you look close, you can see that "blurring" effect like when you take a long exposure. Plus, I highly doubt all those lightning strikes struck at that exact moment... Just my 2 cents.

OP, S&F... Great pictures!!!

Edit to say that I saw that streak coming from the top side of the moon... that is a weird one! WIsh we oculd find out what it is/was!!! Still so neat to me!!!

Thanks Mudman. Great shots, and good catch on the "object" near the moon. You think it's in front (a plane) or behind (not a plane)?

hmmmmmmm ;~)

Here it is closer for everyone:

The picture was taken in the upper atomosphere, so could it even be a plane? I was thinking it was possibly an asteroid.
