Become An ATS Video Pro: The ATS Video Contest

Interesting, I have been in the market for camcorder for a while now as I have had several ideas for the media portal and finally found a model that I was comfortable to buy...only it was not in the stores last Sat when I went shopping. Darn you Best Buy.

Here's hoping for something by June 30, which by amazing luck (or not) is just after the weekend of my 20 year reunion. And if not, well at least I can challenge myself which is always the better reward anyways.

Subject matter should not be a huge challenge as ATS has covered quite a bit of diverse topics.

Alrighty then......I guess I will be submitting some video.......I will need to line up an interview period and .......to be sure this is all fair I need to be sure to disclose that some of the editing will be done by as well as the interview will be done with a small team.

SO the effort although headed up by myself will be a team effort...everyone will get credits..

Also it depends upon the willingness of the subjects....although I see no real issue with that I still need to nail down a time slot to speak/interview them.

Over all a big RIGHT ON to this and to ya all.

Sweeeet!! I just so happening to be working on a ghost hunting video of selected areas around the district! I hope I get it finished before the 30th...And I really hope I don't have to include subtitles for those who cant understand Australian accents LOL

Do you know a good place I can get this codec for a mac? I've tried everywhere but having no luck. I'm half tempted to export using quicktime/mpeg4 settings at the minute which I know will be pretty bad.

If you have Flash, it's the default codec for export using the Flash Video Encoder, which comes with Flash.

And good choice... using a Mac and all.

I believe Adobe Premier can export in FLV also.

Amazing what a few hundred dollars for a camcorder and a free weekend can accomplish, principal photography has begun. And after 7 hours of driving to locations, setting up shots, and not counting the 3 hour wait for the perfect amount of darkness to produce one shot; I now have about 25 minutes of raw footage to start working on that will be trimmed down to 3-7 min (more than likely less) of screen time.

Yes, I have enjoyed every minute of it.

I may enter, but for fun as I am not a videographer or animations expert at all.

Question though - Will we be able to view them before the due date? Is there a centralized page on which all the submissions are moved to after they are uploaded? If so, where exactly on the Media Portal can members find the submissions?

Hello. Skeptic Overlord..?

I have a question in regards to my entry to the video contest, see it's the intro. I need to know if it would be staying within the reasonable means of use of video clips.

I have spliced together a few clips of different things for the intro to my show. Very short, but i dunno if it would disqualify me or not. So I have uploaded the intro to my media files.

I was going to enter but my video went way beyond the file size.

I'll be posting it in 2 or 3 parts in the regular media section when finished with all the editing. Best of luck to everybody....

Slayer if you can find a way to convert your video to .flv before you upload it the video will shrink in file size by up to like 600%.

Mine was like 108mb in WMMS format until i finished it and saved it for broaband use it shrank down to 41mb in WMV format..
Saved it as a 512kbps WMV... had no problem loading it to MATS

I have to agree that 50mb is very small for a video. I've converted mine for the web and it's still 58! That's already .flv.

Hopefully I can squash it a little bit more and have it still be legible!

I've got until tomorrow...

My video is going to be late ...but i will post it anyhow when i am finished.

Should be done by July the 14th or so.
