Teen commits suicide over 'sexting' pics

This simply looks like another case of no one having time for their children, until it is too late, then it is time to draw nation wide attention to the issues surrounding the suicide. Was it the bullying or the sexting or the break up? How about it was the mother that paid little to no attention to her child? For Pete's sake, Jesse had been on local news outlets discussing sexting and the horrible effects that it has had on her life, she discussed the extent of the bullying and how she found it unbearable to attend school. Yet, the mother claims that she had no idea?! Perhaps mom didn't have the time to help her deal with the situation, perhaps she simply didn't pay attention to her daughter and honestly didn't "know" extent. I don't believe the latter because Jesse had been talking about this situation to anyone that would listen for over a year. It is sad that she died, but the mother needs to be held a little more accountable, or at least have less of a pity party thrown for her.

I think the media and modern laws, terrorise the public at large, that if your not a yuppy rich cruel two faced liar, whos clean and perfect and goes to some church then your not welcome. ITs a load of crap, i would say sext so much they cannot stop you. But that might get me in trouble so I wont.

What I will say is this is sick

Ok listen parents and teachers and legalists. Your not gods. Frankly your annoying, you hurt my feelings just by existing. YOur not commanders. Your kids are free beings being caged by hypocrates who couldnt ever tell them there is no santa, only satan and jesus fighting until god gets tire of it.

This society has been assuming that adults are better than kids, i disagree. Let the kids be irresponsible. Let them enjoy theere youth not enslave them into a sig heil existence of total lame b.s. Im getting really tired of hearing these things. I was close to suicide in my childhood on more than ten occassions. I still battle feelings but know that living really pisses off people who hate me for no reason..only MIND CONTROL. So I spite them in EVERY way possible. I will spite them in her name today.

if i knew that my daughters ex had put up a nude photo of her on the web for people to fap about which then leads to her suicide,

id do a couple of things ,

firstly id try and get the dude convicted for man slaughter since he is directly responcible for her actions ,


secondly i´d remind the fellow in question each and every day of his actions, get him drunk and when his passed out i´d cattle mark the poor sod,

being young dosent aquit him of his actions in any way ,nor does it tone down what has happened

just shows you that younger people has/have not been learned the values of privacy or where to draw the line.

I think the larger problem is that parents have forgotten or have not noticed the dangers that lurk. I was told to watch what I put on my facebook page because my 14 year old nephew is on their. Um....what? I did not let him on there. I am not his parents. My 14 year old son would NOT be on there. They are allowed all this access to all this technology that allows them the equivelent of this

Isn’t it easy to point out the obvious? The only thing your statement lacks is understanding of peer pressure and the general #tyness of social expectations. Girls HAVE to be sexy. Guys must only date SEXY (and willing) girls. Thus, both parties are put under pressure, partly to blame on the acceptance of ignorance and shallowness which is mostly to blame on western media.

You know what, no sympathy from me because it was HER decision to send them in the first place, she simply could've said no to her bf in the beginning, but she obviously didnt. Ya her bf sent them around but so what she cant take alot of criticism so she kills herself over somethign that people will eventually forget about? I do not feel sorry for her at all.

Well in my opinion she just made a bad decision, and also she should not have been betrayed by her ex. Also she should have made the best of what happened instead of having it made the worst and killed herself, what I mean is maybe she can nicely ask to get those pics deleted and if they are too far huge then maybe she should think positive in another way.

It's better to be positive over bad situations then negative over them because all it causes is sorrow and pain.

Wow...some people have such a lack of sympathy and an inability to relate to this girl...these are the type of people that make this world a worse place to live in.

Saying things such as "it was her decision" really doesn't make any sense. Who cares if it was? Have you people never given your trust to someone that much before? It is like you were born without some of the human emotions.

When I was young I was very lonely, and didn't really have anyone in my life. I could easily fall for and trust the first person that reached out and acknowledged my existence.

And I'm tired of hearing the same old crap about how suicide is selfish. Only a person who hasn't felt the type of despair depression can bring could say this.

These same people will say things like, "everyone has down moments", or, "I've lived tough times". But I'm talking about the disease called depression, not the feeling. It is something that overcomes your brain and takes away rational thoughts. All you can feel is pain. You aren't the same person you once were. And it can be triggered by stressful life situations, just like other diseases.

Oh, but we should rid the world of the mentally unstable in the sake of survival of the fittest right?

These people need saving, not condemning.

Don't get worked up over those types of comments. People laughing at her lack of judgement and cheering her death are just trying to act hard. Cowards.

Its more scary, I think, to consider what the future holds. Up until the 90's technology was pretty much constant, there were advances and upgrades but there weren't cell phones with cameras and cheap internet.
