If there is one organisation I would trust LESS than the MSM in regards to situations like this it's the military!!!

Of course they are going to come up with a high nmber of false rape claims, hell, they can't even admit the going ons at Guantanimo are a crime!

I would like to know the percentage of women who have been abused in the Military, but I guess that it would be less than 40% get out of the military unscaved.

This is not related to the allegations underfoot; but , related to the said football team- which is interesting that it has come in a reatively short time.
One team member has been "Stood-down", a euthemism for Sacked; due to testing positive for Cocaine use, and other recreational drugs.
What a joke, they make these guys out to be role models for the young

Cultural indeed.
As I've witnessed from the time I was 10 years old (having played Rugby League at that age), this sport seems to attract a majority of "Big-heads".
Its a cave-man, meat-head culture.

Just a side-note on part on the culture of the high profile lives that these league players live. (remember too, most of these guys are under 30, extremely fit/attractive, quite wealthy despite never having had a 'real job', grown up in the rugby/league drinking culture, and get recognized in public/social circles everywhere).

Woman are known to track down (via hotel staff, facebook, team admin etc) exactly where league teams/players will be staying and socializing while in town for a game, then literally track them down and throw themselves at them with the sole intention of being able to 'get famous/have a good story' because they got with a footy star/stars.

I'm not saying that there isn't blame on the players in this instance but come on... she allowed herself to go back to a hotel room with two drunk league guys she had just met, obviously she hasn't got too much self respect. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that no one else respected her either.

Here is where i should add a brilliant, inflammatory, sexist, 'she's a slut' comment, but i'll restrain myself.

It is only because Matthew Johns is so famous that he has become the scapegoat. Ironically it's his fame which allowed him the opportunity to take her back to the hotel in the first place, and it's his fame that has allowed the media to make such an over-the-top story about this.

Other than him being unfaithful to his wife, i feel for the guy, he didn't do anything other than what 90% of single men with a libido would've done in that situation.

wow.. you make it sound like any woman who has low self esteem and no self respect should expect to be raped? Kick someone while they're down eh? thats sick.

Agreeing to one is not agreeing to all.. and agreeing to fooling around is not agreeing to having sexual intercourse. and agreeing to going to a hotel room; while naive.. is not agreeing to being abused as a piece of "bonding" meat.

Incorrect. They acted like animals and I do not believe that 90% of men would take turns at treating a woman as a sex doll. I think many "normal" men word actually remove her from the situation. Matthew Johns even apologised for not doing so and allowing it all to happen.

..besides which there are many players and several other incidences where rape by football players has been proven in a court room.. one being a woman being attacked in her own bed.

It's not like these (largely built) men were just innocent bystanders lining up who's penises just "fell" inside a scared (apparently to the point of not being able to move) teenage girl.

I have no idea if THIS case is true or not, only she and the men involved know for sure, but I can tell you, I have seen a few FALSE rape cases at work. And in my 8+ years in law enforcement, the number one reason women lie about being raped: they were cheating and felt guilty, or knew the current bf/hubby was going to find out they were cheating and instead of losing what they got, they chose the rape route in hopes to save face.

Now, of course rape is a VERY serious issue and any man who rapes a woman should pay dearly, since he proves he is scum, but the women who lie about this are just as low a lifeform. A man should get a hefty sentence for his crime, BUT, IMO, if a woman IS caught lying about rape, SHE should recieve the SAME penalty that her SUPPOSSED rapist would get. Overlooking her false accusations is DANGEROUS!

As for this woman, I hope if she was raped she can get justice....

Only something like 1% of rape reports end up in convictions.. these usually seem to involve bruises etc. to show it was forced without doubt. For example a woman might say "no" but be to afraid to physically resist and fight back.
False reports of rape and convictions of rape a different things.

I agree that false accusations over any crime should be punnished and compensated.

As for this woman, I hope if she was raped she can get justice....

I think thats why she came forward to the media.. no-one has said it did not happen.
