So I wrote another poem last night while my mind would just not shut up.
Lemme know what you think.

~Bargain With Time~

Her broken heart will never heal
His saddened eyes will never dry
How cruel is life who signed the deal
As all were born, we all shall die

Shattered fragments lost to time
Pass with beauty as age creeps
Unanswered questions dance with rhyme
And flirt with fate where dead men sleep

Oh cruel is time as if askance
To treat so few as only men!
From dust to dust the wind of chance
Steals the past once more again!

Oh thief of joy and sorrow wait!
Please stall your endless wrath of passing
Oh hear my plea not as a man
But of one wish of which I'm asking!

That souls of dust and broken time
That those of heart and love divine

That fathers hope and joyful shine
That mothers empty hearted find

To all those of a lonely mind
My family of all mankind

Oh seize the hands of wrinkled line!

This of which we all are asking
For just one moment of everlasting!



How mad was I a passer by
Lost running only with routine?
Having ignored every sign
Deaf to all mankind weeping!

To your request I am obliged
To bless you with this gift of mine
Savor every single moment
As perfection lies not with design

To souls that lay beneath the turf
To all that have no place of rest
To every person that is forgotten
I lay your cries upon my breast

As sneakily will pounce, the past
Learn and live as life's endeavor
Take each chance as if your last
Your choice of joy I grant forever

I haven't poked around in this forum in ages, and I'm not usually a fan of poetry, but that's a pretty darned good poem, I think.
