After all this absurdity it's hard to believe there is anyone that still supports him, aside from corporate lobbies and the completely ignorant.

The average American, myself included, can't payoff our current debt at the current interest rate. And before you chalk me up to one of those evil Americans who spend more than I have, you should know that what's on my credit cards doesn't have anything to do with luxury. We are only bringing in 48% of what we were bringing in in SEPTEMBER. That's how fast it goes for some of us. And neither one of us lost our jobs....we work in sales and earn commission. If nobody buys, we don't make. It's that simple.

If the banks go ahead and raise all of our interest rates, it will cause an INSTANT and (IMO) QUICK death to the dollar. People can't pay their debt now...nobody's going to even bother to try once they can't even make the minimum on interest alone.

This administration is a joke. Obama is a great flip-flopper and the master at double speak, I'll give him that.

"The debt is unsustainable." He comes to this conclusion AFTER all his ridiculous spending!?

The guy is a walking talking oxy-moron. Sorry. This man makes Bill Clinton's double speak look like the minor leagues.

I also find it difficult to find anything new to say that hasn't already been covered. The one fact I did consider, is that our economic crisis we are in is so bad, I really don't think things can be reversed before they have to fall of the deep end.
Economist are saying the next tsunami to hit will be the commercial real estate sector. We have so many problems, that an immediate reversal to correct action wouldn't be enough to change the tide to a positive direction.
What I mean is, we are going to feel the pain whether we like it or not. We have to hit bottom before we can bounce back. We haven't hit bottom yet. it is amazing Obama would say anything like he did, but again, he was probably speaking off the cuff, somethig he really doesn't do well at all.
I would really like to know if any solid Obama supporters on this web site can hear the giant sucking sound of our way of life vaporizing before our eyes. Guys, our lifestyle will never be the same again, if a few months. The train is out of the station, and it'll be here soon.

One reason for this snippets is so later they can be referenced to make him look good. The handlers aren't stupid, just devious.

Of course this isn't the big news of the day, they don't want people to think that their savior is actually not. I was wondering when he was actually going to come out and say how screwed we are. At least he's admitting it, i'll give him some points for that.

I dont support obama 100%.... but You have to give him some credit. I mean its not like HE caused the US to go so far into debt. Higher interest rates are gonna be ... needless to say .... ridiculas. But I mean he has only been in office for just a few months. Did everyone expect him to competlly resolve the money issue in that amount of time? Like I said I dont support him 100%... more so like 60% but I say lets give it some time and see what happens. Im in debt right now, like im sure alot of you are, and it is not from over spending. But a 10 trillion debt can not be resolvd over night... but then again maybe if we stop spending money on makeing sure chinese hooker drink less it will get resolved sooner

If I may translate please ....

Obama: And now after helping out your local community banks and businesses you will need to tighten your belts to get through the tough times that are ahead. Your country will need you to step up to the plate. This is not a time for selfishness. This is a time for us to come together. To perform our patriotic duty as Americans. To sacrifice and give more to our communities. To perform your mandatory civic service with a sense of pride, knowing that you are helping your fellow comrades ... *cough* ... citizens in need.

Does the government allow this out of control spending based solely on the fact that if the US collapsed, as a economic/ world supper power, the civilized world would follow? And expanding on that idea, all the “favors” we have granted over the years to other countries, would we let those go unrecognized? We might not see them as out right hand outs, but they will happen. I would almost go as far to say that the only way we are sustaining our current situation, is by tremendous support from the leaders of the world markets/ "private" industry. these captains of industry will never let the US loses the supper power position, we end the world before this happens.

This is HYSTERICAL!

Where the heck were you Mr. Obama? Everybody knew this MONTHS ago and you just figured it out? What's the matter? Blinded by the bright glow of your "halo" Mr. "Messiah"?

Congratulations you soft-bodied liberal hippies. Your socialist "I want free stuff from the govt." ideas have systematically helped contribute to the downfall of OUR (yes, mine and YOUR) country. Are you happy now with the "change" Obama is bringing? Are you GIDDY with excitement now that you'll be able to have almost everything for "free" at the cost of YOUR, your children and your grandchildren's sweat and tears?

Enjoy wearing the slave collars, you cowards!

Edited to add: I wish there was a video of this, so somebody can edit it and have it so after he speaks, we hear the voices of the audience saying "NOOOO? REALLY?"

what about the trillions hes spent out of our pockets. . . . seems to think the public can sustain that

The alleged savings in President Barack Obama’s budget is an outright sham. It is being used by the White House to mask the fact that Obama is America’s greatest spendthrift.

On close examination, his proposal to “save” $17 billion is anything but a savings. The money would be directed to other programs. The president is touting this “savings” to obscure awareness that his budget for this year will add more than $1.8 trillion to the nation’s debt.

The claimed savings is only one-half of 1 percent of the $3.4 trillion spending plan. Many of the proposed savings are fantasy. For example, Congress already has blocked Obama’s plan to end subsidies to farmers whose sales exceed $500,000 annually.

www.middletownpress.com...

theres tons more info available on his mounting spending all over the web not hard to find

YOU may not be at the point where you can't sustain yourself without borrowed money. But me? I don't have any debt. All my college is paid, my car, while used (a nice 2003 nissan) was actually paid in FULL, as for my living? for now I rent. But I know I can afford a small home on my salary (that's what I'll be looking for next. I'm hesitating... for OBVIOUS reasons.)

Some of us play the game smart, and do as our founding fathers said "don't pay for something you don't already have the money for" or something to that extent. They warned us about getting in debt. Some of us where smart to listen. The majority... well you get the jist.

Really? There is a Grand Plan? Would you care to share it with us?

Boy Blunder never had a plan. He isn't that smart. Neither are his cohorts like Emmanuel and Geithner.

But Obama did have a goal - and that was to pay back his cronies and backers such as George Soros, ACORN, and others. That's what the Stimulus bill was all about, as well as the 8500 earmarks in the Omnibus bill.

So now he has raided our national treasury to fatten up his buddies and make good on his campaign funding deals.

What's next? Well, there's no money left, (he knew there wouldn't be) so he acts Shocked! Shocked! that he must make this dire 'announcement' to the taxpayers that he is robbing.

Next will be a round of taxes on everybody ("We must all share in this great sacrifice") and the socialization of the energy sector in America (Cap and Trade). Then watch out for inflation to kick in.

It's all been scripted, folks, and so many fell for it.

Change you can believe in.

The humor here is that he says this on the same day that the Democrats and he rammed a DOD supplement of $84 billion dollars through. This guy is the biggest fraud I have seen in my life; an absolute king at speaking out of both sides of his mouth.

I don't know whether to laugh at Obama or just sit here with jaw on floor at his audacity.

I will certainly have no regrets telling those Obamaniacs "I told you so."

AND I had no idea I was so right.

[color=gold]Plan B

Pelosi too close to the Presidency.

It's time they get her out of the way as Speaker Of Da House so that we can open the vaults on Obama's REAL Birth Certificate.

Removing Obama and putting O'Biden as President this summer or fall...

AND Just before the dollar crashes. Ruining his career since it happens on his watch.

Maybe by sometime in 2010 we'll have the new Speaker Of The House step up to the Presidency after O'Biden is impeached for crashing the dollar. (Someone has to fall.)

Then we'll be well on our way to the NWO???

Maybe Nibiru will slam into Earth and spare us the agony of any more politics?

No, he didn't act shocked. He just stated the obvious, which everybody already knew in the first place. He didn't say that we were going to stop borrowing money this instance, that's not part of the plan. The plan, the short version, if you don't know it already is to get people to start spending money again. You have to spend a little to make something, or in this case a lot.

How about this. For all of you that are for some odd reason saying I told you so or throwing around the flip flopper name. Obama stated the obvious here which everyone realized, and he knew before hand. Listen up because here is the important part, did he announce that he was changing anything? Is he switching up the plan? Has anything new happened after he stated this? Nope. So in reality this was just something that was brought up and for some odd reason you guys really believe he just stumbled upon this recently.

Oh yeah, and here's the plan link

I just heard a good analogy:

It's like he said, we have to go on this very strict diet, but before we do, let's feast on this huge hot fudge sundae here..

His TARP and Omnibus catapulted our children into debt. HIS ideas. And now he wants to act like he is so somber and wise, saying we cannot do what he just did.

We're supposed to just forget about his failed policies of spending our way out of debt. No way, Jose.
