Also Matthew 24-31 clearly indicate a time in the future when the elect will be gathered up. Also it is touched on with 1st Thessalonians 4-16 and 17.
This rapture thing is clearly predicted in the new testament. though they may comeback later after the fireworks are over.
These verses offer little for the "heaven" argument. In 1 thessalonians 4:16-17 it describes the
FIRST RESURRECTION along with the rapture
showing that this will be a Post-tribulation rapture at the time of Jesus' second-coming. They meet Him in the air but as tradition of the Jews and
Israelites, the faithful followers of a king would always go out to meet the king and escort him to the city walls. Same thing here.... the Saints or
"faithful servants of God" will meet Jesus in the air and as Jesus is there for the second-coming, will descend to earth. The role of the saints is
to escort Jesus, the King of kings to His kingdom on earth and then rule with Christ as kings and priests during the melennium of peace on earth.
