UFO spotted over Bristol

www.telegraph.co.uk

A man in Bristol has captured video footage of what he believes to be a UFO flying over Britain.
Last Updated: 7:54AM BST 14 May 2009

Andy Hadlington saw the mysterious blob silently hovering around and filmed it from the window of his office.

The mysterious grey object glided around the residential area of Knowle, Bristol, at 5.30pm on Sunday without making a sound.

UFO experts have been trying to verify the sighting and are hoping to speak to more witnesses and views of the eerie episode.

Computer game writer Andy, 36, said: "It was the freakiest thing I have ever seen in my l

As i searched through ats for previous post i noticed many posts and ufo sightings revolving around this area.

As you read the article you will see that perhaps it might have been from the local airport but that has not been confirmed as yet, i guess we will have to wait and see.

My question is,

Is there anything of interest in or surrounding the Bristol area?

There is a MOD headquaters at Frenchay on the outskirts of Bristol called Abbey Wood. I'm sure BAE are around here as well.

Peruvian, are you a Brizzler too then?!

Tristar, I've not heard of many UFO sightings around this area to be honest - would you link to them please?

Nah just at University here. Airbus is round here too i think. Anything else? Dunno whether to belive this or not/ it's a bit low flying and no-one else has come out as of yet saying they saw it. And like has been said before the camerman is a computer games writer! Knowle is known for its nutters as well

Somebody else made this point the other day; this is the 4/5th article the Telegraph have carried about UFOs this week. 2 years ago the only way the Telegrapgh would have touched a story like this was if it was an excuse to poke fun at or ridicule someone.

Are they just doing it as they realise it sells papers or is there something more to it???

I live in Somerset now but it's where the majority of my family are from (aside from New Zealand) - you're right about the Knowle nutters by the way.

Anyway... I've not heard of this at all, was it even reported on the news? I don't watch it as a rule - there are exceptions of course - so I can't confirm or deny either way. Strange that it's such a short video with no audio either, I'm calling hoax on this for now.

So every computer game writer is a CGI expert now?

PLEEEASE... there are hundreds of departments in the production of computer games, sound, editting, dialogue, character design, physics programmers, texturers, researchers..... not every one deals with graphics, let alone video.

Please do some research before making such statements.

There's been a thread up on this video in the Aliens and UFO forum for a couple of days now.

It seems the person who 'captured' the video, Andrew Hadlington, has a decent background in, well I'll let you see:

Interactive Designer / Graphic Artist / Programmer with 7 years experience creating gaming content for the internet and casino / SWP / Gambling industry. 10+ years experience in 3D animation and motion graphics, web and digital graphic design and 15+ years experience in computer programming (including Flash Actionscript 2/3,VB, PHP, HTML, CSS)

And his LinkedIn profile has a few specific programs he uses:

Adobe Flash
Adobe Dreamweaver
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe After Effects
3ds MAX

Now I'm not saying that it's not possible for someone who works in an industry of magic to see a UFO for themselves - I'm just saying it's highly unlikely that this can be taken at face value.

Just like I'd think a child had eaten candy when left in a sweet shop by themselves.

Hoax, but bully for you believers!!

Thanks for the heads up.

Just curious about the various and obviously debunked videos emerging from this particular area.

Indeed its the BAC, its why it brought up red flags, it has a very active role from the begining of the cold war, as you can see it even has its own nuke development center.

Bristol Ferranti Bloodhound Missiles and Launcher (1957)
WE177 Free-Fall Nuclear Weapon (1966)
Tracked Rapier Mobile Air Defence System (1971)
Sea Dart Missile (1973)
Petrel Target (1979)
Polaris A3TK Missile (1982)
Sea Eagle Missile display model (Tigercat)
Seawolf Missile and Lightweight Launcher 1980 (Falklands War)

Don't forget Rolls Royce (naval division) either who are closely tied to the military. My grandfather used to be a designer there.

What debunked videos? You still haven't provided them and I'm very curious.

Yeah BAe are located around there too, a friend of mine worked there for a couple of years on new aircraft developments, but nothing out of the ordinary tho, just standard upgraded new aircraft.

Ah that's what they want you to think! Yeah the West of England is quite heavily militarized. Sailsburys plains are where alot of war games and training are held. Warminister has a base and supply depot. Couple with this both Bath and Bristol have MOD facilities.....

Yeah and those are only the ones we know about!

I can't really seem to make much out from the footage in the OP, surely there'd be more witnesses to this, in broad daylight, in a busy city like Bristol?!

Yes, surely there would have been witnesses to this but then again we just don't know whats going on. As it was pointed out it may or may not have been a cgi, but there's afew things that just don't add up with this and the other so called sightings coming out of the U.K. lately.

By videos being debunked i meant by videos that could easily be explained away. Obviously there are those terrible videos and then there are those not so bad cgi videos but then agian i pose a question.

Who could really state the difference between a real and fake ufo caught on tape. Since the only hard evidence is either from space or some old footage with bad video quality.
