You know, while we were all distracted by the DEADLY swine flu and "Air Force 1" flyover of Manhattan. Talk about distractions, it must have been something major. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe just to make us more afraid.
Or a little distraction from the things happening in Pakistan, could be a lot of things.
Interesting thought.

What really happened is the powers that be all had a big party at the Bohemian grove and discussed how next to fool the public into mass hysteria and it was decided amongst all to check the posts on ATS daily for info and ideas...

I was wondering the same thing. It would seem that anytime the mass media tries to force our attention on something, there is usually something MUCH bigger happening.

Can't say that I really picked up on anything although, it does seem that they are becoming sneakier in trying to do away with 2nd ammend. rights for all of us darned "terrorist".

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) is sponsoring HR 2159. Interesting read.

I tend to think that it HAS to have something to do with financial news. Something that most people wouldn't notice if other things were going on.

I'll go read HR 2159 right now.

I actually was just reading the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 (bill HR 875) and was getting HIGHLY irritated

It's interesting to see that the more vague they are in their wording and text of these bills...the more easily it is for them to interpret it anyway that fits their liking. Sneaky, Sneaky indeed.

even better, 875 is backed by who else....Monsanto. And when you dog a little deeper you find this tidbit...

the sponsor of the bill is Rosa Delauro who is married to Stan Greenburg a political strategist who works for Monsanto...

Here's an idea, and I know this will shock some...

Maybe nothing else happened?
Maybe it wasn't a distraction?

Swine Flue is a real problem. The fly-by of the AF1 plane was a real event which embarrassed America and Obama. But that one is incredibly suspicious.

I fail to accept that this was an innocent mistake, and that the Obama administration knew about it and approved it. No one is that stupid.

What do I think happened? Someone from the previous administration decided to make a very clear and public point to scare Obama off of the torture discussion.
They saw him making statements and threatening to stick to his previous promises of disclosure. Cheney was outraged, and someone ordered a contact within the military to buzz NY with an AF1 plane, thereby scaring the public, gaining global attention and embarrassing Obama.
Who would have the power to issue such an order? Only those in power and those previously in power with continued support from within.

That is seriously the ONLY explanation I could find.

And it looks like it worked very well doesn't it?

I know, it's very scary that so few people are aware of this. If you have dug that deep already then I'm sure you are aware of the Codex Alimentarius. If not, it is another interesting read to say the least.

I like your take on the fly-over fiasco....Cheney certainly has been making the media rounds lately.

I threw this one up in another thread; I don't know if its been discussed elsewhere on the board (there are so many threads on this topic), but I found it quite thought-provoking:

The recent mysterious fly-over of Air Force One, low over Manhattan in New York City, triggering panic and the evacuation of the World Financial Center and other Manhattan skyscrapers, seems to be linked to this: it appears that Obama and some from his team had decided to meet with Trustees and representatives from China and other foreign powers to try to reach some agreement/solution [to economic issues connected with China's massive US debt holdings]. But Obama did not properly consult with "those upstairs who have the final say", who then decided otherwise and ordered Air Force One to land in Washington DC, doing that with a more than threaterning demeanor. Fearing the worst, the Air Force One pilot decided to protect his plane by having it "seen by millions" over the skies of New York City, in such a way that the two F16 fighter jets "escorting" him could do nothing "strange" (see the incredible low fly-by videos on YouTube). Later on, the missions of these foreign creditors of the US - Chinese included - were involved in a confussing shoot-out with FBI operatives that left several agents dead...

hmmm....I haven't read this take on the incident yet. What is your take? Do you buy it or were you just adding possibilites to the discussions?

I'd like to point out that Air Force One didn't fly over New York. In point of fact, there was no "Air Force One" at the time of the much-publicized fly-over. The aircraft in question was one of two, either SAM-28000 or SAM-29000 (I haven't been able to find a good enough image to read the tail number). Despite what it says on the fuselage, it's only "Air Force One" if the President is aboard. Otherwise, it's simply SAM-28000, or SAM-29000.

That technicality aside, I don't buy the "Dick Cheney ordered it" explanation. Those aircraft are reserved for the use of the President of the United States, and they don't move without his knowledge, and usually with his personal approval. A former Vice President has about as much control over the comings and goings of those aircraft as I do...which is to say, none at all. It's not going to be worth some officer's career (or, more realistically, several officers' careers) to pull an unauthorized flight, particularly one that embarrasses a sitting President.

Even if you accept the (highly doubtful) premise that Mr. Cheney wanted to engineer some incident to embarrass the current administration, there are several things he could have done that would've been just as embarrassing, and much simpler.

I also don't think the Obama administration is full of 'stupid' people, whatever I might think of the administration on ideological grounds. What I *would* believe is that the whole flyover was suggested by some staffer with an eye for the dramatic (Let's face it, a VC-25A is a very photogenic aircraft, particularly with a patriotic landmark or spectacular geography as a backdrop), who honestly didn't even think about the '9/11 flashback' problem. Face it, if you weren't *in* New York on 9/11, you probably wouldn't have thought of that angle either. I don't think this one was a conspiracy, or some sort of veiled warning...simply a bit of carelessness on the part of a staff member. Not everything is a conspiracy.

The swine flu outbreak was engineered to distract from the fact that espionage charges were dropped against AIPAC Atom Spies. (Rosenberg Trial pt. 2)

This is actually a pretty major development as the battle wages between the 'democrat' Illuminated Freemasonic Trilateralists versus the 'neo-con' Khabbalistic black magicians for ultimate control of Americas foreign policy.

Well, I don't really know if I buy it or not...I don't have enough inside info to say one way or the other. I certainly wouldn't rule it out as a possibility. At the very least, it strikes me as an interesting theory. I'd like to know how the author came by this information.

One thing I do believe...the president is basically a puppet. Obama has less power than Bush, who had less power than Clinton, who had less power than Bush I, and so on...I think the power of the office has been on the decline ever since the days of Nixon. So it wouldn't suprise me to know the president is getting serious "static" from the powers that be.
