I have been trying to tell people about this for months now. This constantly happens. Now before you say anything please understand I have NEVER GONE TO WACKENHUTS website before. To be honest I didn't even know who Wackenhut was until this happened.

If you don't know who Wackenhut Security is, they are the "suspected" company that runs all the security for Nellis Bombing and Gunnery Range, and supposedly Area 51.

What happens is when ever I go to type in a url and press enter it re directed me to www.g4s.com...

This happened on all browsers and only from my computer. The only way of getting out of this was by using a proxy. Yesterday, this weird phenomena stop and started directing me to the correct website without any trace of the Wackenhut website. Remember before this I have NEVER gone to that website in my life! Nor had anyone in my home. I had even refreshed my computers cache and cleared all cookie and it still directed to g4s.

Link to website about Wackenhut and it's area 51 connections

Anyone here know whats going on? Or experienced the same thing?

the only way this can happen is if your pc has a virus(or something similar) it may also happen if your isp's router or dns server is infected. The best way to rule out the isp is to ask someone with a laptop to use your connection to browse the net and look for the problem. If it continues its your isp if not its your pc.

doesn't g4s also handle electronic surveillance? like monitoring people on "the list"?

just a theory, but wouldn't the easiest way to monitor someones web traffic be to force them to use a proxy that we can monitor? like secretly hack into their computers and set their default windows proxy somehow? or the proxy settings on your router?

now from my experience, when a proxy is down/broken, it just shows you the proxy website in the browser no matter what you enter

of course, you would have to be a complete retard to be using a computer under the g4s.com domain for what is basically illegal surveillance, but then again, if these people are as incompetent as fenix840 says, i guess it is possible

just a thought, but when you set a browser proxy, does it somehow override your default proxy? which could explain why everything was working correctly when you tried to connect via some other proxy...

as i said, this is just a theory and tbh, i have absolutely no ide if it would work this way or not... any it experts here?

It is called a browser hijacker.

Viruses like this force your browser to go to specific websites (usually porn) or to simply stop working all together.

I'd say in your case you've somehow managed to get one that is made to play a joke on conspiracy nuts like us. Have you been to any dodgy looking conspiracy-related websites recently? (tough question I know, as most look fairly dodgy).

Technically it doesn't even have to be a conspiracy website.
Eg.: Websites for obtaining cracks for software often have lots of viruses and other stuff on them.

Going to them will either:
o Lock your pc and get loads of ''buy our anti-virus'' adverts everywhere
o Replace images on a browser to ''buy anti-virus''
o Redirect to certain sites (or simply not do anything when entering an URL)
o Spawn lots of porn popups.

Theme of the websites rarely has a 100% connection with the crap it forces onto your computer.

Call me crazy, but that almost sounds like they're not there for the mall at all. Where abouts you live? What State? The Mall, it was built about 5-10 years ago?
