Well, after weeks of trying to sort this out and now with the newly added and brilliant Mutter, i have now had enough of this irritating problem that i just cannot fathom out.

I'm on a mac, partitioned to take XP, running latest firefox, firewalled and antivirus.
As far as I am aware, all the other little programmes like flash and java etc are up to date.. I have spybot and Advanced Systemcare pro...

Have just cleaned my history, cookies etc.. and done a reboot but this problem still occurs... I get this problem far more often than not having it..

The problem is that pages only partially load or dont load at all or almost completely load and then stop...but keep trying to load

Right now, I have fully loaded this page.. nothing waiting.. all done.. but on another tab i have a BTS thread open to get to use Mutter... Mutter wont load.
I have a comment at the bottom of browser page..
it says "waiting for stats.big-board.com"

And that is all it is doing.. even a page refresh leavs me stuck at the same point.

This does not happen with all pages or websites. It is a regular problem for the BBC news web site or other MSM sites.. it is not a problem for a lot of other sites, like youtube for example...

So what the heck is going on? I have tried all i can to get this sorted but I just don't know what esle to do or try.

Everything was ok yesterday.. had no problems using Mutter.. but today it's all up the wall.

Just a couple quick suggestions.

First I would ctrl alt del and check your task manager under the processes tab. Sort descending by the CPU Usage tab. The processes will fluctuate depending on what is using your cpu cycles but system idle process and firefox will probably be towards the top. Just look for any rogue process that may be eating cycles and investigate from there.

Also, I would open a command prompt and run a traceroute (tracert) to the sites you are connecting to. There might be a slow node between your location and the servers you are accessing.

Hope you get your issues sorted out

doing a tracert to ats just opens a window and then there is a flash of some text and window closes..

Nothing I can see in processes that looks out of the ordinary.. got two svchosts.exe running for some reason...dunnow why or what that does..

14%cpu usage
455mb page file usage...

But tracing ATS isnt going to show you all the sites that ATS links to...

Like stats.big-board.com

Which from my perspective, the path to there is pretty darn slow. Most of the hops are in the 80+ms range, and one is nearing the 500ms range. Its possible its even slower on the routes your taking.

13 86 ms 87 ms 472 ms er1-te-2-0-1.SanJose3Equinix.savvis.net [204.70.200.234]

14 87 ms 87 ms 87 ms hr1-te-2-0-0.santaclarasc4.savvis.net [204.70.200.210]

15 85 ms 85 ms 83 ms hr1-te-2-0-0.santaclarasc9.savvis.net [204.70.200.217]

16 83 ms 84 ms 84 ms 204.70.203.150

17 84 ms 85 ms 84 ms csr11-ve242.santaclarasc8.savvis.net [66.35.194.98]

18 85 ms 86 ms 85 ms 216.34.131.135

About the tracert going away immediately, open a command prompt dos window first. Then type tracert to the site you wish to trace. Also, you could use the command pathping to see if packets are being lost along the route somewhere.

You may be able to take alternate routes by using a different dns server, like Open DNS if the route to their servers don't take you thru the same route where the slowdown is, if you determine routing latency is your problem.

the stats.big-board starts out at around 140ms... averages about 350... highest peak was 1600ms.

sometimes the page loads past big board only to get stuck on files.ats

It is completely random where it gets stuck and does not always stick on the same place...

as of now, I am having difficulty even loading images , avatars, buttons etc.

Well there a live feed stats if im not mistaken, not to forget the dbl click net.

You could try to raise your ram on the browser usage, i often have that issue but i have noticed that perhaps its when the server is updating its data for internal feed and stats.

I found a link on svchost.exe

This may help explain why you have two of them.

you need to do the tracert from the command prompt, if you are, and its opening a batch window on top then it could be spyware.
If your running it from the startmenu run section, it will open then disappear.

Get a program called hijack this, its an exe you can run from your desktop. It will give you a good list of all this starting up through from the registry and ini's, also shows you a good idea of what 'crap' is running within IE, add'ons, plugs..

just filter out the crap, give it another go.

does the problem exist in IE? or just firefox.

try forcing another DNS in your internet settings.. gotta try everything he!

Four different browsers and the same problems on all of them.. either pages fail to load or only partially load or am left with 1 object left to load and page just sits there trying to complete..

Mutter wont load in any of the attempts tried.

Have tried Friefox, IE, Safari and XB browser.

Have now got hijack this.. have run it, but have no idea what i am looking at or for..

You can post the hijackthis results at an automated analysis site.

Its not perfect, but its better than nothing.

You can also check your host file to make sure its not been taken over by maleware.

You may want to clean your cookies, and temp internet files too.

Geez Agit8d.
Are you running on a 56k modem or what?
Those are some long latency times.

well i ran those stats through the link you provided and almost everything was safe or very safe...mostly very safe.. all bar two items.. which were;

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\[0F0BC2E8-4840-4451-A358-3DAF5A8C1BE1]: NameServer = 195.27.1.1 141.1.1.1
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\[0F0BC2E8-4840-4451-A358-3DAF5A8C1BE1]: NameServer = 195.27.1.1 141.1.1.1

It reccomended I fix both of these...so I did... and completely lost ATS/BTS.
Nothing from ATS would load...not even main page.. any other web site was fine.. cleared my history, shut down, restarted firefox but still no ATS possible... any other site was ok..

Just done a complete reboot and, obviously, ATS is back...

Excellent. Glad its back. I take it the images are loading ok now?

As a final touch, you may want to Download, update and run a FULL system scan with Malwarebytes anti-malware.

Hi,

Is your browser full of extra gadgets, if it is and your running windows go for Chrome, its very very lite and fast compared to Mozilla. If you running Safari try a text browser for Mac, these two things will compensate for your lack of internet speed.
